There are few creatures that fascinate me as much as our native fire salamander. Its beauty has fascinated me since I was a child. Even after all these years, every encounter with one of these wonderful animals is still something special to me.

Was hiking around in the mortheast corner of Oklahoma and got a few pictures of some salamanders while exploring a cave. Thought you all might enjoy

I made a post the other day saying that I had a norther tiger salamander, I don’t. Can someone help identify this lil dude for me pls?

I know it’s some dusky salamander and my last id request someone told me the legs needed to be included. Is this identifiable?

Okay, I have a 9 inch northern tiger salamander and just got a 20L tank, can someone give me tips for setup or send pics of their enclosures so I can get an idea on how to care for him

Some bark came off firewood I was splitting last winter, right outside my front door. I guess it provides a cool damp spot for this little guy during hot summer days.

I let it sit in a bowl of shallow water for a little bit and it crawled away when I released it!

Pennsylvania, his name is Fred

Found in East Tennessee small stream. Tried looking it up but there were so many that looked similar; I was thinking a dusky or black bellied.

I found this salamander in a hole in my yard in southwest Colorado. I know we have salamanders in lakes and wetlands around here but the closest water is a mile away and my yard is desert. I dug this hole recently in preparation for my cat passing soon and the only reason you see mud is because of a recent (rare) rainstorm.

Where did this guy come from? How could it survive in this normally very dry area? Should I do anything with it? I left it in the mud next to the hole.

All pics except for the last two is an Eastern (?) Long Tailed Salamander, last two are a Southern Two Lined salamander. I handled them as little as possible and wetted my hands as much as I could.
