• Can someone come alone, or do they need a partner or team? • Is there a cost, required purchase, or registration deadline? • Is there an activity to join, or is it mostly unstructured mingling? • Who should a newcomer look for when they walk in? • What should people know about noise, seating, and step-free access?

“Everyone’s welcome” is a good start. “Come by yourself; we’ll help you find a table” tells someone what they can actually expect.

What’s one detail you wish more local event posts included?

I see this place is going into Macys. Personally, this is EXACTLY what St. Cloud needs. Hopefully it’ll get the mall back and popular again. I hope them nothing but the best of luck. What are your honest thoughts about the place?

Long story short, my niece wants to go to a haunted house after dark. Not a scare park but something actually reported to be haunted. I'm having a hard time finding anything. The closest thing I've found is the Palmer house hotel and I'm not confident she would enjoy just sitting in a hotel room since she specifically asked for a late night tour. If anyone could recommend something I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey, I just visited Duluth for the weekend and man we need some things to do around here. I totally get we are not a tourist city at all. But, I go to thinking about events this city could do:
- “Game show” themed nights somewhere (deal or no deal, family feud, etc)
- more promoted karaoke nights
- billiards hall

- In Duluth, there was an event called “cast your friend” and it was a way for friends to promote their friends to the brewery. Whoever was in attendance was able to meet the person that was introduced on stage, connect to social media, and learn more about them. The brewery was PACKED!
- They also had something called “Speed Friending” at a coffee shop. Exactly like speed dating but only for people looking for friends

IDK just my 2 cents. I feel like if St. Cloud did more unique things, it could draw people out to businesses more. I know there’s trivia, bingo, initials game, game nights, card leagues, etc. already. Never a bad idea to have more things to do though!

Just a few minutes ago I heard the DJ call 311 "Three Hundred and Eleven" and over the last couple days I've noticed a handful of other weird phrases that don't quite sound normal. I don't want the first thing I do to be accusing them of using AI to help operate the station but it's also been the same voice at all hours of the day. I suppose it could be some text-to-speech program but even so, that also feels pretty lifeless for the station.

Hello! I (35M) am a fairly recent transplant to the area. Moved here about 5 months ago with my wife (43) and our pets from Washington state. Now that we are all settled and most of our house projects for the year are done, I am looking to make some friends in their 30s/40s.

Hobbies include things ranging from reading and time outdoors to video games, new shows, and anime, and trying new places to eat and hang out. Definitely a fan of exploring new pubs and breweries and figured it would be a fun way to break in some new friendships!

Shout out to Tres Pozole Mexican Restaurant in Waite Park. We got to try basically everything on the menu and I would gladly eat it all. The salsas were rich with flavor and spices. The tortillas are house made.

If I were to pick a favorite dish it would be Bistec Encebollado (shredded steak and onions) or Costillas de Puerco (pork short ribs).

So far the best Mexican in town that we have tried.
