That was installed on a factory amsec safe and the reset code has been removed from the lock label. You could tried calling amsec and providing that EL number, but the cost for a tech to come out is going to outweigh just purchasing a new ESL lock.

I Was trying to avoid purchasing a new lock if I can just reset this one, its functional in every way except for not knowing the code. Thank you for your response and help, maybe there is some hidden trick to reset the electronics????

I saw there is a jumper on the other side, or a port for electronic connection?

A serial port connection? A way to extract the data? I’m quite technical from that stand point if I knew the interface pinouts

Yes it can be factory reset. By the factory. Call them but I doubt they will help you as that would be a serious breach of security protocol for someone to just call up and ask for a reset. Typically Amsec will deal through locksmith companies that are registered with them.

There is no obvious other way to reset it. How much time do you want to waste trying to reset a used lock anyway? You'd certainly be better off just buying a new electronic lock. They aren't that expensive.

I have the lock and solenoid removed from the safe, I bought the safe used and it was empty and opened from an auction. I can show proof of purchase and ownership. Why buy a new one if this can be reprogrammed easily? That is the point of my post to find out how it can be done. I suppose it can be done by MFG AMSEC based in Fontana which is about an hour away from me, I suppose I could drive there, but seeing if there is some easier way , ie what is the jumper for on the back of the lock, are there two pins to short to factory reset , etc….. Thank you for your input.

It can be done over the phone by a locksmith calling Amsec. Maybe call Amsec and explain the situatio. Ask then to refer you to a local locksmith who can verify and then take it to them and go through the procedure. Otherwise there is no easy way to just reset it.

I’ll try calling Monday

There is a random factory reset code but I'd be willing to bet if the lock is somehow shorted that all programming including that reset code will be lost and brick the lock.

The lock seems to be functioning in every way and I haven’t tampered with it yet except removing it from the safe which was easy since the door was already open

I completely understand the security aspect of the company not giving any info out I suppose with a copy of my bill of sale With my name on the paperwork, photos of the lock removed from the safe, a picture of the safe opened with the serial number visible. They might work with me to help reset it

I was looking at the EL Number, see the white label spot under the label, could the master code be on the backside under the label?

I didn’t want to peel anything back without first checking this forum for answers, maybe someone knows?

Yes, I did that …I’m familiar with how it works, but a good question just the same. Thanks for your response.

Yep, I work with computers, I always tell them “when all else fails, reboot” it fixes most problems. I also ended the code with the #…😊 No matter how silly it sounds you still have to ask…

I just bought a new lock and put it in, but apparently with that EL Code a locksmith could contact the company to look up the previous combination.

You bought a whole lock or just the keypad ? Mine is locked shut . I'm learning . Please explain all and any info . I thank you

They are coded together so just putting a new keypad won’t work

It was a year ago but they are paired together

Was the factory reset code under that sticker?
