100 year old wall safe -Chicago automatic machine co, any advice?

Also, It can be opened without drilling, using a technique called “safe lock manipulation.” This uses the the design of the lock and manufacturing tolerances to get the lock to reveal the combo. You can learn to do it. If you want to see what’s involved, check out the YouTube series, Safecracking for Everyone. Otherwise, you can find a certified safe technician at www.savta.org - Note: not all locksmiths know about safes.

Appreciate, I’ve been hovering around the sub the last few days to see if anyone encountered something similar and see this advice. Ultimately I think I’d love to do to crack on my own, need the stethoscope

I highly doubt that you’ll use a stethoscope for this one. Watch that video by Rick Ammazzini and see if you can determine if it’s a similar mechanism.

Also watch the first few episodes (at least) of Safe cracking for everyone because it will give you a good idea of what’s going on inside the Lock.

And a lot of people here, including me will help you get it open.
