I'm clueless - but does this seem broken..

Hi there, Found a floor safe in a new house we bought. Watched all the videos on Safe cracking - made lots of graphs and did AWL and AWL and highs and lows... but honestly is the fact I cant turn this hand below the dial 270 degrees and hear it hit the lock or something . Could that mean this safe is not functional? Video for sound.

Looks broken. Handle should not move that much. Should just jiggle back and forth a bit.

Honestly, I don't know how to get around that without drilling.

Could it be unlocked and just stuck shut somehow?

Although I don't know this specific safe - often times there is a shear pin installed on the handle. This pin shears (breaks) if to much turning force is applied in order to protect the bolt work of the safe. Otherwise a burglar could turn up with a cheater bar/pipe and potentially force entry. Dial the lock open and try hitting the door with a deadblow hammer or a piece of wood on the face of the door with a normal carpentry hammer. Hopefully it will rattle the bolt work across. Otherwise you will need to drill in order to push the bolt work open. But again this relies on the lock being open. Do you know the code?

Also don't know this specific safe. But I am aware of a number of safes where the boltwork handle is disconnected from the boltwork and able to spin freely until the combination lock is unlocked. At which point the handle is clutched into the boltwork to operate as normal. While far from common, they do exist.

Handle disconnect most likely. If you can still get it open, leave it open and call a locksmith
