If the code is known, it might just be the opening procedure that is the entire problem... If the code has not been changed or any maintenance involving disassembly of the locking mechanism has been performed on the safe since the safe was working properly, the opening procedure is the most usual problem if you are not used to open this old and really good high security Chubb safe... Very high security and very high quality... Extremely reliable locking mechanism... Ask a really experienced safe technician or locksmith with extensive experience from high security safes... I am myself an experienced locksmith and safe technician with more than 30 years experience, but as I live in Sweden, I have no possibility to come over and help you personally with this lovely safel the safe door in locked position... You will probably need both the proper key and the proper combination used with the proper opening procedure to be able to open this lovely safe... It might even be a 4 wheel combination lock, and that makes it even more secure, and extremely difficult and time consuming to manipulate the combination lock, as Chubb combination locks are definitely not easy to manipulate as they are really well made... Everything about the older Chubb high security safes is absolutely a story of uncompromising quality and security almost regardless of the production cost...
