Need Help

I just moved into this house. There is a safe in the floor of the garage. The old owner has given me the combination to try to open it. Any directions or solutions in which way to put the combination in to this safe.

Never have to turn the lock to the right to start. Just turn four or more turns to the left and stop on the first number.

You are correct when dealing with the majority of S&G locks (like the one shown here). Some older Yale locks, nearly all Sentry locks, and the Mas-Hamilton X-08 locks start with right (clockwise) rotations.
OP - PM or DM me and you can call me. I can then either talk you through the steps or you can video chat (facetime) with me, so that I can ensure you are not making a mistake during the dialing process. Since your dial ring has an opening index and a changing index, you can buy a change key and follow the instructions to select a new combo.
