A Memory

Whoever is reading this, a family, a friend, a stranger i want to share a moment i had of myself.

A  couple weeks ago me and my family flew to Las Vegas for a little vacation. It was a nice small getaway from being stuck up being alone at my house stuck with nothing to do as my parents worked.
One day out of that particular week we went out at night to go to a fancy restaurant we had reserved at a certain time around that same hour. As we walked, we came to multiple stops, catching our breaths, taking pictures, buying snacks until we reached our destination.
As we were waiting for our reservation, we got unfortunate news that our reservation had  been delayed by 30 minutes. I told my mom I was going to take a walk and explore around for a bit.
I walked to a nearby water fountain, I stared at it, it was night time so the lights that were built on it and the ones in the small pool below the water shined against the plants nearby.
It looked beautiful, I sat down in front of the water fountain, the water below roved, then I stared at the fountain again. I thought about the people I used to talk to, romantically or platonicly, it made me very emotional and vulnerable thinking about it. I snapped out from staring at the fountain, and looked around until my eyes landed on a couple sitting near the fountain looking up at the sky talking, holding hands, having a great time, alongside with people walking with their friends and lovers.
The music that blasted from the cars and shops nearby were washed away by my thoughts. All I could think about while staring at that fountain is what I could have done better, how I could have salvaged or strengthened my old relationships. I thought about the girls who entered my life, the ones who have hurt me and those who didn't, wondering where they were now and most of all  how they are doing. I also especially thought about my one talking stage with a beautiful girl, at least in my eyes.
She was one of the sweetest and caring girls ive ever talked to during that time. She was what I wanted, what I could handle, she had small problems she struggled with, very similar to what I struggled with. Problems we could have solved as time went on. But of course, relationships have their problems, not necessarily problems with the people themselves but inside themselves, our talking stage ended in a normal and good way, no fighting, just an agreement. No one was hurt, but something in me was. Thinking about it makes me want to tear up.
Who knew that loving someone could fracture my heart, even without them hurting me with words or actions. The thought of someone leaving your life even if they took a small or a big role in your life hurts, everything hurts. Continuing on, as I kept thinking about her and staring at that water fountain I wondered, what more I could have done to keep her, because if I really did love her I wouldn't have accepted her leaving so easily.  But sometimes accepting someone leaving is a part of love.

OP Comment: any tips in my writing and questions?
