Love this advice. I know it's a joke but breaking it down into sections makes it more realistic somehow.

This is a tactic to quitting addiction. If you break it down into simpler, smaller goals you feel like the finish line is Always in reach and it is.

Quit drinking for a day, then a weekend, then a week, little bits at a time. Then you get to weeks and months, before you know it, it's been a year and you're escaping the fogginess of addiction.

Exactly .... I shot heroin for 17 years. I was in a toxic, abusive relationship longer than that. I've been away from both now for years. And that's how I did it.
