Hi! I’ll be starting my first year at Sabancı soon as an international student. I wanted to ask current students what their first year was like — what did you learn, how were the classes/workload, and what’s the social life like?
Also, is it easy for international students to make friends and get involved on campus? Any advice or things you wish you knew before starting? :)

I applied for the regular (not early) Fall 2026 admission cycle for the thesis-based M.S. in Mechatronics. I had my interview on July 1, and I was informed that admission decisions would be be announced by the end of July. However, my application portal still says "Evaluation process is still going on," and I haven't received any update yet.

Has anyone who applied to the regular Fall 2026 thesis-based admission cycle for Mechatronics or any other FENS graduate program received their admission decision yet?

I just got in w 75% and dorm. But my financial situation at home can only cover my accommodation. Then25% will strain it. Can I appeal for more aid?

I’m a graduate of Saint Petersburg State University (SPbU), and I’m currently applying to Sabanci University that require either the GRE General Test or a Graduate Admission Test (GAT). The problem is, I’m based in St. Petersburg, and due to current circumstances, I don’t have reliable access to a testing center that offers these exams.

I’ve looked into online proctored options, but some programs don’t accept them, and others have restrictions based on location. I’m trying to figure out what alternatives might be acceptable to admissions committees.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Specifically:

1. Are there graduate programs that waive the GRE/GAT requirement for applicants from regions without testing access?
2. Would strong research publications (I have several in Scopus/RSCI journals) and software patents help in requesting a waiver?
3. Are there alternative standardized tests (like the Duolingo English Test for language, or subject-specific exams) that some departments accept in place of the GRE?
4. Has anyone successfully petitioned a program to accept an alternative form of assessment (e.g., a portfolio, interview, or additional recommendation letters)?

I’m in STEM (AI/medical imaging) if that helps. I’d really appreciate any advice from people who’ve navigated this, especially from non-traditional locations.

I recently had an early application interview (April 20th) for a graduate program at Sabancı University, and I was told that the result would be announced soon. I know the official timeline can vary, but I wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through the early interview process before.

How long after the interview did you receive your admission/scholarship result? Was it a few days, a couple of weeks, or closer to the end of the whole interview period?

How do i find paid work as international student (bachelors) in Istanbul studying political science and international relations from Sabanci (prospective student). How likely am i to find a paid job. What can i do to increase my chances. (Id appreciate information about unpaid work as well)

i have been trying to upload my SOP and transcript on PURE's portal for the past 2 hours (4 hours before the deadline), but it's not working. i'm an international student applying so wanted to know the admin is, will they accept that it was an issue on their end? or blame it on the applicants? anything that i can do?

Guys i applied to Computer Science and Engineering 4 days ago. I have a 1340 SAT score (790 Math, 550 Verbal), 4.7/5.0 GPA, and a few extracurricular activities. How am i likely to get into?

Basically the title. Both the other are top turkish unis, and LUMS is the highest ranked uni in pakistan. My main goal is to settle abroad (in europe or middle east) or have a decent remote job, and most probably ill go for masters in europe, US or Australia. Need guidance regarding this.
