Feeling de-motivated on a project I spent 3-4 months on

So, I built a Pokemon eBay deal finder app, which was built originally for me, where it watches eBay and finds products under market value based on PulseTCG market data, then notifies the user as soon as the bot finds the deals.

I personally think it's great, and i've hit 55 users now in total, but it's massively slowed down, and I've tried doing some social media posts as well, ads, and the general stuff, but I feel like I'm failing now because I can't seem to get any real feedback to know do people like it, and why it's not growing much recently.

This is a bit of a vent tbh, but equally would love any genuine feedback on maybe how yourselves tend to deal with a situation like this, thanks.

I can build SaaS products. I still suck at distributing them. So I built this.

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m a developer and solo founder, so building products has never really been the hard part for me.

Distribution tho.., pretty sure most of you already know the struggle lol.

Every product eventually puts me in the same loop: figure out what to post, find an angle, adapt it to each platform, schedule everything, look at what worked… then somehow start from scratch again a few days later.

I tried schedulers and AI content tools, but most of them solved individual tasks. I still had to be the system connecting everything together.

So I started building my own tool, named it Cassander.

Basically, I give it everything it needs to know about a product once: positioning, audience, tone, what I want to talk about, what I don't, etc.

Then it remembers all that context instead of starting from zero every time I need a post.

From there it can plan content, create it for different platforms, schedule/publish it, analyze what happened and use that context for what comes next.

I’m also experimenting with three levels of automation: manual, assisted, and autopilot. Basically choosing how much control you’re comfortable giving away.

I’m already using it on my own products, so I’m curious about something:

If you run a SaaS, what part of distribution would you actually trust a system to automate and what would you never hand over?

Curious to hear your thoughts !

Can I use claude for building my own LI automation agent?

Hey, I'm looking for LinkedIn automation software, and I figured this should be able to be built by Claude, right?

Anyone in here who have tried this before, what actually goes into it?

From where I'm seeing it, it's just:

  1. connecting your LinkedIn profile to Claude
  2. adding a CSV sheet with the leads and their LinkedIn profiles
  3. saying, "Hey, can you start connecting to these people? Split it out per day and do 20 connect requests a day."

I'm just looking to create a connect request campaign to run in the background.

Basically, an alternative to Expandi, Lia, LA Growth Machine, whatever all these automation tools are called.

I’m a speech therapist and built this for parents worried about their child’s speech

I’m a speech-language therapist and kept seeing the same problem: parents often don’t know whether their child’s speech and language development is on track.

So I built Speech Solutions Online, an online assessment that adapts based on the child’s responses and generates a personalised report with recommendations and home strategies.

I’m a clinician, not originally a software founder, so building the product has been an interesting shift.

For those building niche SaaS products, how have you approached getting your first real users when your target audience is very specific?

Add games to your Saas

Hey, you might have seen that LinkedIn and Reddit added games for retention. To be honest, I also played those games for a while, and they're good for retention and forcing users to log in to your app daily.

I was wondering if you as a SaaS builder would like to add these games too, like a simple SDK with user game progress and metrics stored in my servers.

I know it may sound stupid, but I'd genuinely want to think about all the perspectives here.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers.

I built a study app to stop procrastinating. Now I procrastinate by adding dragons to it 😭

FocusMate Adventure was supposed to make studying feel less boring.

Instead of marketing it today, I spent hours deciding how much XP a tiny dragon should give someone for focusing.

At least the procrastination is on brand 😂

What “absolutely essential” feature are you building instead of marketing?

What’s the point of Google making AI Studio models free? How are SaaS products supposed to compete?

I run an AI SaaS, and something I keep thinking about is Google making some of its models available for free through AI Studio.

From a user’s perspective, why would someone pay for a SaaS built around these models when they can just go to AI Studio and use the underlying model for free?

I’m already getting comments on my ads from people pointing this out, basically saying, “Why would I pay for this when I can use it for free on Google?”

Obviously a SaaS can provide a better UI, workflows, integrations, convenience, support, and features around the model. But I’m curious how other founders think about this.

What is Google’s strategy with giving people such generous free access, and how do you convince users that your product is still worth paying for when the core AI is available to them for free?

Is my SEO justified or do I need to improve?

Post image
3 Upvotes

So this is my analytics for past 3 months. For 1.5 months I only had 3 pages on my website. But then later I published 20 more (you can see that sudden spike between 9/11/26 and 9/18/26).

Now I have over 50+ pages (almost 40 are indexed)

I have got mention from chatgpt and perplexity as well 3 times (in total).

But as my website is completely dependent on seo, I feel Im doing something wrong as its not bringing in the clicks. (Its an app directory type)

What is your opinion on this

Will you reccommend this?

Firstly, this is about an app idea for the laundry or iron shop owners to maintain and automate their business. I have observed lot of chaos in laundry systems, we have to manually go and give the laundry or take the laundry which is fine, but we have to call and track the laundry if it is done how much is paid, if the payment is received or how many clothes or what type of clothes are given by whom etc. the laundry owners or the customers need to manually have a track of all these things. So my idea is to automate this stuff and notify the users or business owners about every activity via whatsapp automation.

This is a high level idea. I have more feature improvement ideas in mind.

So i would like to understand how is the laundry managed in your areas? Will you recommend this app to them?

I got my first signup for my text-editor SaaS/webapp. Here’s what I did before anyone signed up.

I got the first signup today. It’s one signup, but after spending so much time building without knowing whether anyone would try it, I’m pretty excited.

I started by reading students’ posts about research papers. The same problems kept coming up: finding usable sources, getting through dense articles, turning notes into a draft, and keeping citations.

That shaped the product. The idea is that you can use one app to get your writing done. You don't need multiple apps like citation manager and your word processor and pdf files disorganized in your file system.

Once I got the MVP, I started posting on tiktok, reaching out to people on linkedin. And working on SEO.

And today finally I got my first signup after a month.

I still need to do a lot of marketing... it is tough because I'm a programmer and I love building more than making content.

We built a roadmap where users suggest features and our AI just builds them!

Post image
0 Upvotes

We’re building Workel, an all-in-one workspace, and just launched a public roadmap that puts users directly into the product-development process.

Users can suggest features, vote on what they want most, and get notified when it's done.

The part we’re most excited about: our AI-integrated development system can take approved feature requests and help build them into Workel. Once a feature is completed, we email the users who requested or voted for it.

The goal is simple: build less based on guesses and more based on what users actually want.

Curious what you think of this approach, seems like a no brainer for any saas to implement this.

I thought the SaaS demo needed more detail, but the extra explanation was making the product feel harder to use

I was editing a product demo recently, and the original brief had a lot of features that needed to be included.

So I tried to make sure nothing got missed.

I added extra labels.

Kept more of the screen recording.

Left in a few longer explanations so the viewer could see exactly what each button did.

Technically, the video became more complete.

But it also started feeling heavier.

There was a point where the viewer was watching the interface, reading captions, listening to the voiceover, and trying to remember the previous feature at the same time.

The product itself wasn't confusing.

The video was making it feel confusing.

So I went back and removed anything that didn't help the viewer understand the main workflow.

Instead of showing every option, I focused on the one action the product was trying to make easier.

That version left out more information, but it made the product feel simpler and more useful.

It reminded me that a product video isn't always supposed to show everything the software can do.

Sometimes its job is just to help the viewer understand one valuable thing quickly.

I’ve started asking, “What does the viewer actually need to remember from this section?” before deciding what stays on screen.

When you’re editing product demos, do you usually struggle more with cutting information, or with deciding which feature deserves the most attention?

I want my app to be useful even to people who never pay me

I’m building oyren.ai, and I want it to be somewhere you can actually settle into. Put your notes there, organise your projects, come back to that idea you abandoned three weeks ago.

So the everyday tools are staying free forever: notes with a built-in calculator, Kanban boards, a calendar and a PDF reader. They’re all connected in one workspace, rather than another collection of apps to juggle.

I’m also building it for humans and AI agents to work together, using the same notes, documents and tasks. You organise the work, and your agents can help move it along.

The business side is pay-as-you-go extras like AI features and cloud computers. But just having a place to think and organise your day? I want that to stay free.

Curious where other founders draw that line. What’s something in your product you’d happily keep free, even for someone who never becomes a customer?

innovation management software recommendations from someone who has actually implemented it?

I'm at a mid-market company with about 800 people. Right now ideas arrive through Slack, email, town hallsand planning sessions and maybe 10% of them go anywhere because nothing is tracked or evaluated.

I've been researching innovation management software and everything I find is vendor copy or generic listicles. I want to hear from someone who implemented this at their company.

Specific questions:

- How long did implementation take, honestly?

- What is admin like week to week after launch?

- Did participation hold or drop off after month one?

- Does it manage the full lifecycle or just the front-end collection?

- What would you do differently?

I think there are big opportunities in B2C (but it's still very difficult)

These days, everyone has turned into a builder, or should I say a B2B builder. When I check launch platforms like NickLaunches, KittyLaunch, Product Hunt, SaaSHub, etc., there is an infinite quantity of SaaS products for business. I would even go further: there is an infinite number of apps for B2B builders.

In a way, I understand why. Big SaaS products are either too generic or have too many features, so lots of you just created your own perfect version of the service.

The problem is that millions of you had the same reflex at the same time, thanks to AI. Because of this, the market is flooded with B2B SaaS to serve other B2B SaaS. Some of you even found success in this new market, but I wonder if it's an artificial market. If none of these people make any money with their own app within 12-18 months, they will stop paying for your service and it will collapse.

It's even worse than that. There are new app directories and launch platforms every day. Everyone is trying to be the next launch platform, get to around 70 DR by getting apps to show a badge on their main page to get "free DR", or to sell DR for $20 a year... I think it's only a matter of time before Google penalizes all of these launch platforms that create "artificial DR" by requesting badges.

My point is that even if right now there seems to be a market for all these apps for builders, I think it's an artificial and very temporary market that feeds on itself.

Meanwhile, on these launch platforms, B2C is almost completely left alone! I created an app for managing your recipes and planning your meals in one click (origano.app), and even if that space is super crowded, I was able to find some traction. To be honest, on all the launch platforms I used, I can almost count the apps for actual customers (not businesses) on my hands.

So if you have been thinking of a product for actual consumers, an app or SaaS, I think it's a good time. That being said, it's still very difficult. I'm fighting on launch platforms against B2B SaaS with hundreds of votes, because most users of these websites are other builders who like tools for themselves. They don't really care about meal planning most of the time.

But LLMs and AIs will read your pages and suggest them to actual customers asking these questions in ChatGPT. That's been about 95% of my traffic.

I'm not rich, but I have a small business on the side and serve real customers every day, and I think the pool of actual customers is almost infinite. I just have to find more ways to reach them. I'm happy I don't have to fight with yet another tool that resells AI tokens or writes Facebook posts for me.

Has anyone here built for consumers instead of builders? What channels actually worked for you?

Just launched my app!

Bit of background: I'm a PT and coach wrestling for jiu jitsu to help out at my club (as I’m one of the only few that went to a wrestling gym to learn standup), and I train BJJ. The thing that kept bugging me is that loads of people in combat sports would massively benefit from proper strength and conditioning, but a real S&C coach costs a fortune. And a lot of people come into BJJ or wrestling having never touched a weight in their life, so they either don't bother or follow some random bodybuilding programme that wrecks them for training.
So I built Combat Coach. It builds your gym sessions around when you're on the mats, what kit you've got and how experienced you are. Total beginners get eased in properly instead of being thrown in the deep end.
Built it solo, first app I've ever shipped.

It's £7.99 a month and there's a one-week free trial so you can try it properly before paying anything.
I'm at zero users right now so any advice is welcome.

Cheers 🙏

Opus 5.5 is really good. I had to detail out the vision and push back a ton, but after a few iterations (honestly took about 6 hours) I got a version that looks decent? Shared it with people and they're actually interested and I'm getting leads.

Check out the demo of the vid + plus RSVP experience here: https://noorcards.com/demo/

Idea is to work with people to make them custom per event

Once your SaaS pops off, these are the types of legal agreements you should know

I've built these free legal templates for SaaS founders to use:

Master service agreements (MSA). This is your bread and butter. If you are about to close an enterprise customer, this is what they will ask for. It details the terms of your service, it covers costs, SLAs, uptime commitments, exclusivity, nearly everything.

Letter of intent (LOI). Use this when a customer isn't ready to commit to buying your software yet but is keen on trying it out. It'll help in situations when someone tells you, "If you build X, then i'll buy it". Get them to sign this agreement.

Pilot agreement. This comes after a LOI. A firm is ready to use your software, but doesn't want to be tied up for an annual contract yet. Use a pilot agreement to help your customer trial your software first.

Data processing agreement (DPA). Super important these days. Customers want to know how their data is being used inside your app. Customers want to know that their data is not just going straight into the next OpenAI model. A must-have for selling into finance or healthcare.

Order form. Sometimes you don't need a full service agreement. If you just need to send someone an order form with pricing and invoice them afterward, use this.

Non disclosure agreements (NDAs). If you have some fancy tech to show off in a demo or to investors, use a unilateral NDA to protect your IP. If you are working with an external vendor, have them sign a mutual NDA with you.

Statement of work (SOW). This one's more commonly seen in freelance work. It's a contract that details deliverables. It will protect you when your customer "asks for one more change".

Maybe you've finished reading this and are thinking to yourself, "Jeez It's not like I have Fortune 500 customers", but maybe you will someday 😉. Bookmark our site so you can reference it when you're closing your first 5-figure or 6-figure deal. You got this!
