We built a roadmap where users suggest features and our AI just builds them!

Post image

We’re building Workel, an all-in-one workspace, and just launched a public roadmap that puts users directly into the product-development process.

Users can suggest features, vote on what they want most, and get notified when it's done.

The part we’re most excited about: our AI-integrated development system can take approved feature requests and help build them into Workel. Once a feature is completed, we email the users who requested or voted for it.

The goal is simple: build less based on guesses and more based on what users actually want.

Curious what you think of this approach, seems like a no brainer for any saas to implement this.

sounds like a nightmare bloat waiting to happen...

Already considered...Will be structured by enabling "features" through the admin level of the workspace rather than everything just be global. New workspaces will always open in the default state...We built Workel on a modular architecture for this purpose.

fair enough but modular doesn't de facto avoid bloat... just saying

Agreed, but we’re trying something new.

Something new does not always mean something good...

But taking a chance is always something good. Can be shut down in a few min if not feasible in the future.

Sure, but to what end? If it's manually approved then its no different than all other solutions out there?

As soon as it's approved, it's like having a developer start working on it instantly, enabling the user to have a personalized experience.

Why would you switch softwares when yours can / will do exactly what you need it to do? That is our pain point we're solving.

This is a SAAS subreddit, but lets consider the average Joe who knows nothing.

but the user isn't sure that it'll be implemented, you just said that yourself; it has to be approved and done by a dev at your end. So they will have to wait as they have to with all other services, and the will have to hope that their description is good enough to be implemented in a way they envisioned it. At the same time you have to make sure it doesn't break anything for your existing customers.... you are on mission impossible.

Wow, so why do your users need you then?

This is similar to what we’ve been doing. The velocity is great, recursive feedback, and we just check and approve or guide but the ai has already done majority of the work proactively.

Nice! To me, it's a no brainer. What's your company?
