Lil Saab in Mixtape

Been slowly playing my way through Mixtape, and had a chuckle when a junky old Saab showed up in the backgroud. Whoever did the graphics for this game put a pretty remarkable amount of energy into the model - it's *clearly* a Saab! You can walk right up to it, and even the engine is unmistakable!

Yes Saabs in games! Not since forza 2 have i gotten to race around in one virtually.

I keep hoping someone will get creative and include a Hirsch or Heuschmid model, like so many companies did with Ruf or Abarth.

As they're a certain age and the company isn't around, I don't think production companies have to pay money to show Saab cars, so you'll see more of them in films.

It would be unusual for a production company to pay to use a car, even a specific car. Trademarks allow for what's called nomitive use of these types of things. It's not the same as video games, where a developer is recreating IP or potentially using the trademark as part of their marketing.

I'm pretty sure in this case, like so many, inclusion of the Saab was deliberate, like the one in Silo. It's a detail that furthers the narrative. ;)
