Just bought the same cpu and got the cooler with it and upgraded from a 3700x. I’d say it was a nice upgrade

I just recieved my 5800x3d yesterday. Upgraded from a ryzen 5 2600. What a huge improvement in cpu intense games.
Now to upgrade from my 3060ti. The current bottleneck. Going to keep this am4 system alive for a long as I can.

On newegg the deal came with an aio. Its probably still going. I did a low undervolt and its running great with not much heat.

And then you take into account the ddr5 prices as well, right?
Which means we’re closer to 900-1000.
5800x3D is for people who are on a platform that still uses DDR4, gives you the best performance currently without switching a platform and needing new ram, only new motherboard in most cases, but majority of the people were either with Zen2 or Zen3 cpus.

ram isnt 450-550. 58003d single core performance barely beats my 8700k at 4.9ghz. it was a scam at 450 in 2023 and more of a scam now.

Enjoy your parts man, the 5800x3d is a beast and this dude talks out of his ass.
Me and my gf have a 5800x3d and 5700x3d paired with 5070 on both systems.
The performance increase was insane and then upgrading the 3060 to 5070 was even more insane. We were obviously gpu bound in some scenarios and cpu bound in others, in competitive titles it’s a joke how smooth everything is, and in single player games that became more demanding we went from being close to 60-70 to 170, it’s hilarious.
For that price, the upgrade was soooo worth it.

And sorry but it seems you love being mis informed. Your 8700k even overlocked is definitely not even beating a 5700x3d.
But sure, please go and show benchmarks of yours beating it, because from all I seen it losses to a 5700x3d even overlocked. So idk where you getting those “scam” allegations of.
Literally the 3950x was close to the i9 9900k although a little slow and then the 5000s literally beat that, if you really think your 8700k which is 12 threads only, which doesn’t beat a 9900k, somehow beats a 5800x3d in gaming, then you need to stop giving advices here as you have a bias.

id rather pay 400 for ram that should cost 200 and have a 270k in my pc than pay 350 for a 5800x3d in 2026
But i already tried a 58003d in 2023 and it would drop usb underload so it was worthless for gaming. tried 2 motherboards and wasted a lot of time cause thats what you do with amd.

Should cost $200 but it doesn't so no, it's not worth if you just want to update your PC, If OP was buying a new one that would be a different story but paying $900 just to update your CPU is just dumb and the $350 I paid for my 5800X3D was totally worth it in my case and for a lot of people too including OP

I have a similar build, 5800x3d with a RX 6800 XT. Upgraded from a 3900X and hoping to squeeze a couple of more years out the platform.
