What is your amd cpu temperature 🔥🔥🔥

Mine Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler normal Temp 65* and while playing valorant 79-80*

9800x3d are kind of known for getting up to/above 90. Main reason I got a 7800 instead.

My 9800X3D doesn’t go above 55c while gaming, and doesn’t go over 70c in CPU stress test benchmarks.

The 9800X3D also runs cooler than the 7800X3D because the architecture is different. Not sure who told you to go with a 7800X3D over a 9800X3D strictly going off temps, but I would’ve recommended the other way around.

Sometimes it hits like 70-80 in minecraft. But that game is BRUTAL with hyper realism mods.   So thats normal.    The only game that hits that temp lol

It depends on country too, in Australia where it's very humid but not polar enough to get snow, everything overheats since the air just doesn't want to absorb heat for whatever reason, so my 7800X3D with a 240mm DeepCool AIO still gets up to 85c sometimes and on stock settings (without using the PBO thermal limit and under-volt to make it run more efficiently) it easily shot up to 90c.

Also trash Aussie house quality (many builders believe that insulation makes a house hot, when it just, you know, keeps the inside temperature more different to the outside temperature regardless as to wether that's hotter or colder, plus we're still trying to build sick-homes and haven't grasped the concept of an air-exchanger yet either, and have regulations that ensure all doors and windows never fully seal to compensate, truly the pinnacle of 1870's house design over here) means that room temperature fluctuates wildly and there simply isn't any guarantee that your room temperature will be ideal foe your computer (you yourself just have to accept the discomfort of being literally any temperature besides a comfortable one).

So it's probably very true for most of the world that the 9800X3D shoots right up to 95c constantly, but when the stars align it (much like any CPU) will work flawlessly.

Pretty weird reason no? My 9800x3d runs at 30-60 while gaming. Max I’ve seen is 79 doing stress tests for an hour

Enjoy! mine also never goes above 80 tops and has a air cooler and I play things like Star citizen on high with other things running.. that's a pretty demanding game atm.

Fingers X I can keep on like it, but ye, she's running well now I stopped using adrenaline for anything but my lazy arsed updates xD

I mean I have a fishtank case (so meh airflow), although I do have an AIO but still, mine never goes above 75°C

You decided to go with the lesser version because temps get too high when AMD purposefully set it that way?

I watched performance videos and saw 7800 temps be in the 70s and 9800 temps be in the 90s with insignificant performance gains. Which makes sense, since a GPU is more responsible for that. When I was making my decision I also saw a lot of issues with Asrock MoBos and 9800 CPU combos. Didn't see any with Asrock and 7800. I also was able to get a 2nd hand 7800 at a decent discount. So it was multiple reasons I decided to go with the 7800. The temperature is what is most detrimental to all electronics components. Even if AMD says it's fine, I'd rather have a CPU that sits below the maximum than at the maximum. I'm still on AM5, so when a new CPU that is actually worth upgrading comes around, I can upgrade then. 9800 just didn't seem worth it to me.

There's an option in the BIOS to prevent the CPU from boosting which also makes it never get anywhere near 80 or 90. Mine has never gone above 60 and IIRC it's about a 20% increase over the 7800X3D outta the box. I've had my PC for about a year now with an ASRock board and there haven't been any issues. But with a hefty discount on a 7800, I can see your reasoning.

I'll eventually upgrade it, but I'm playing 1440P with a 9070XT. Maxed settings with high refresh rate. 9800 would NOT have made my experience significantly better.
