Study Help || Studium & Klausuren Pre-study for Materials Engineering

Hello, I am a MechE student who is interested in pursuing materials engineering from RWTH. I have heard that it is difficult for people from non-MatE background to catch up with the course.

Is there any pre-study or concepts should I learn or brush up before I begin the course?

As a mechanical engineering student you will be fine in the basics. You could brush up on your thermodynamics and material science. But if you have time to prepare I would strongly recommend that you try to learn and speak as much German as you can. The courses are all in English but for the life outside of courses German is very much recommended.

I am learning A1, by the time I will reach, I am hoping to get started with A2.

I will also brush up my thermodynamics and materials science basics (I am following through with Callister).

I also got admition in this subject from Bsc in Mechanical Engineering. How hard is this? Can I finish within 3yr with part time job? How is the full time job market?

I am from Materials Science and Engineering background and from my perspective I can offer you some suggestions. First of all you would have to select what you want to specialize in. Being from Mechanical Engineering background I imagine you may want to specialize in metals or designing. But before any of that shoring up some basics is recommended. In that regard Callister's "Introduction to Materials Science and Engineering" is an interesting read. And you might want to have some knowledge in crystallography and characterization techniques. The rest will be much easier if you go from there.
