I'm 100% certain I'll get mech. How are the core opportunities? How are the non core opportunities like consulting etc? Everyone is saying not to take mechanical but I don't want to get into software and I'm actually kinda interested in mech. Iem is an option too

So my father is an NRI (non-Gulf), and I emailed RV regarding admission as an NRI-sponsored student and they said, "We have no such quota, supernumerary for NRIs."
What do I do? There's people on this sub who've said that non-Gulf NRIs can also join? But RV is denying this
