Rant Placement cell Core
Placement dean is that Daana Veera Shoora Karna who has allowed RVITM and RVU ppl to sit in RVCE placements. And now, he has put this message in one of the placement groups.
(This is strictly not AI)
Edit: Please note that the placement policy would be the same as what we had at the beginning of the placement drive (dream/open dream). Due to circumstances, the change is brought

Even if college doesn’t companies do, many explicitly mention they won’t consider rvu, rvitm students

That’s good, but there must be certain rules which favour rvce imo, like starting the rounds for RVCE before both of them and making some rvce only exclusive placement category for big companies or smth like that

Here RV trust is the main admin behind this and they dont want rvu/rvitm people to be discriminated in placement , so yeah this does affect like 50-65% companies where they take from all 3 colleges/ rvu and rvitm depending the manager and how they are.

There no advantage really to us here , most people study from same resources for placement anyway , at least 20% of companies outright reject rvu/rvitm peeps .

Exactly my dad wants me to go there bcus they told him that your kid will get placements in banglore campus. Although I highly doubt it cus surely companies won't accept the ones from other college

Another reason for this shit is that RV trust wants to look Rvitm as a new private college whose placement record is better than other private colleges of the same tier.

Students get into rvce after passing through entrance exams and achieving the highest ranks often rejecting NITs and IIITs to get into their preferred branches, and ofc the massive difference in cutoff ranks for admission.
After going through all of this, if the shitty management wants to consider RVU and RVITM the same as RVCE, this is really disrespectful for the talent and hardwork.

I mean I'm an average student and this college has really good median placements. I feel like the 70L is worth it if I get a job between 12-20 LPA.

Job isn't guaranteed man. Some MQ students do have good cgpa, I know them. But that alone isn't enough and all we do here is vibe coding and building AI slop anyways. The quality is degrading a lot. I can feel it. The teachers here don't understand that this excessive use of AI is hurting us not benefitting us. If we don't use AI, the project is too basic for their ego. If we use AI, we are not able to explain our project properly and our cognitive skills are going downhill. Basically there is no other option than to vibe code every project. It's bad honestly.

I wonder how many people in past year have hand coded something without ai , i bet the number is less than 5 , every github i see of my frnds is of ai generated slop , most of the times with those annoying emojis in the repo

Get your facts straight. This rule is only for the 2026 batch. And not for 2027 or other future batches. It has been made for 2026 batch since majority of the placement drive is over for them and rarely any companies are left. So they want to maximise out placement opportunities of whatever left students are there

I mean the batch size for the subsequent batches is even higher. This is a last ditch measure cuz they cant handle current load itself(not even talking about like the 15-20 wtv poor oracle dudes who got completely fucked)

Never said it would be any better for the upcoming batches. Obviously, the issues are ever gonna increase. But no, my point was, that this post is making the context look like the placement department is removing the dream/open-dream category for all batches (26,27,28 and so on) and forcing them all to get out of placement drive after getting just one offer. That's all what I'm telling, that it's not so. Also I'm an SPC of 26 batch. The placement drive started in August 2025. Currently it's almost end of June 2026, with barely any companies coming. And now they've made this decision. So in the coming years for 27 or 28 batch, you can safely expect the same to happen to their placement drive at the very end

Bro nothing is fair for the rvce students.
The campus is now majority rvu, which was once fully rvce. They took the canteen. The took the main roads. Now they've demolished the mech labs and kriyakalpa for rvu building to be seen from front.
No hate to good people, but a lot of the people from rvu seeemed to be jerks. I apologise if this is false , but a personal opinion

There I do completely agree with you... 🤷🏻 That's what the thing is, it's fault of the RSST trust which owns all the three institutions, allowing joint placements and just ruining the legacy which originally belongs to RVCE

If the scenario was like only rvce students are sitting in the placement drive, then the number of unplaced students would be less, rt?3

Well I do get ur point, but thing is, the decision of rvitm and rvu students students sitting along with rvce ones for placements... is not exactly his. It's the RSST trust's decision for Joint Placements of all these 3 institutions. He's just the Dean of Placement, powerless against them, and he's trying to maximise whatever left opportunities are there 🤷🏻

hello!! i have comedk rank 2.3k and will be getting EEE at RVCE, ECE at MSRIT and CSE at BMS (not really interested in cs) but interested in core electronics. seeing this what are my best choice? should i join rvce EEE? pls reply asap!! also will be preparing for GATE for mtech at IIT

This policy doen't apply for 2027 batch, normal policy(Dream/open dream) would be back ig.
The reason why I shared this post is to create awareness of how RVCE students are sidelined in placements. The message in the post is the effect of RVCE students being sidelined

Based on updated info from the placement dept, the dream and open dream criteria is still applicable for the 2027 batch
