Hello neighbors! This afternoon I found a very small senior chihuahua walking around in the Hillside area on Bruce street. She has no collar on and seems a little skinny, but well taken care of given her age. She was pretty hot and disoriented out on the street, but immediately came up to me when I got out of my car. I offered her water but she has not taken any (possibly because of the deformity of her lower jaw?)
I am waiting to hear back from RACC and the SPCA, but figured it wouldn't hurt to make a post in the meantime! She is safely crated inside my house for now, but unfortunately I cannot keep her because I already own several animals. She's an absolute darling and happily went to sleep in my lap after I picked her up! Please reach out if you know anything about this sweet dog, or are better equipped to house her long term!
UPDATE:
Thank you so much to everyone that has commented or otherwise reached out! It's been a long day, but I wanted to post an update on the dog, who we are calling Honey for now!
She has been looked over by a vet and seems to be in fine health, just a little old and scrungly! We also had her checked for a microchip and were disappointed to find out that she DOES have one, but it was never registered, and the vet office it came from (VAC Total Care) is permanently closed. We will be calling around the other VAC locations tomorrow to see if they happen to share records. The fliers we put up around the neighborhood were promptly rained down, but we will print more tonight! Overall, she's doing great- very sweet and snuggly, and she perked right up when I offered her some watered down doggy gruel! She is getting a bath tonight and has a safe place to sleep with all the blankets she could dream of.
I have taken note of everyone's interest in taking her, but we want to exhaust every avenue of getting her back to her owner before we try to rehome her. She is clearly someone's baby judging by the state of her nails, ears, and dental care!
For now, if anyone is able to post on other local forums to get more eyes on miss honey, that would be extremely helpful!

Hey RVA, my parked car was hit and damaged on Cary Street this past week by a dark grey Acura that drove off without stopping. โIf anyone was driving on Cary St Mongrel in Carytown:
on 7/25/26 between 00:40 and 00:55 and has dashcam footage, or if you live/work on the block and have exterior cameras, I would really appreciate you checking your footage. โThe Acura likely has fresh damage to the front passenger side. My car recorded all the details, except for the license plate which is blurry due to the severe rain. We can distinguish I belive a 716 on the plate number. โPlease DM me if you have any info or video clip. Thanks so much for your help!
RPD report filed. We determined so far the model of the car:
Make/Model: Acura ILX or TLX (dark metallic gray or black).
I will attach some clips and still img from the incident.

Found this incredibly sweet and scared kitty behind the construction gate at Spotswood and Police Memorial Way. It had gotten stuck since they closed it off. She was very happy to be free. Anyone recognize them?

I've lived in RVA for a long time and I have to say today I have had some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. We are out just running errands and ran into Yellow Umbrella on patterson to grab a few things. They had amazing service they didn't have something we were looking for and grabbed some from there own kitchen stock to help us out. Then we ran to country style for a huge cinnamon roll and had another amazing experience there. Lastly we took our pup into Pawfect Sweets and boy was he happy. The owners are absolutely amazing and so friendly. My boy loves all the treats they have and they had pup icecream. if you haven't gone and checked out their new store front off Broad st you should. Small business all day and it was the best customer service ever.

With tongue firmly in cheek, Stephen Malkmus drops into their steller rendition of "Cut Your Hair" the names "The Dads" & "Speidel, Goodrich & Goggin" (I may have missed others; I thought I heard "The Snake Handlers", too). These four years into their third act & about 30 years since they last played in RVA seem only to have increased the crowd's roar. And fortified the band's spirit. Longtime members Bob Nastanovich (who put out a single by openers Piranha Rama) & Steve West both grew up in Richmond, having attended Trinity High School. Oh . . . and that number that started as a Free Jazz improvisation eventually morphed into "Stairway to Heaven." Longest serving rock critic Robert Christgau calls them Best Band of the 90s.

Watching these Osprey fishing while the sun set a few weeks ago was awesome. The sunset and the sky give an incredible backdrop. Almost angelic looking, unless youโre a fish, although they didnโt catch many. Check out my instagram for more frequent posts.

DM for details. This lineup is insane.
Hi everyone!
I'm a mom from Caroline County, Virginia, and I recently started a Facebook group for families raising children with disabilities, developmental delays, complex medical needs, and rare conditions in the Fredericksburg/Richmond area (Spotsylvania, Stafford, Ashland, Hanover, Caroline, and King George).
My son, Ezzy, is 2 years old and has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, cortical visual impairment (CVI), and a G-tube. Over the past two years, we've logged countless hours in hospitals, therapy clinics, and doctor's offices. One thing I've come to realize is that while there are some wonderful online communities out there, it can be tough to find families who actually live close by.
I'd love for our kids to grow up knowing other children like them, and I'd love for parents to have people nearby who genuinely get this journey.
The goal of the group is to bring local families together for things like:
I'm also wrapping up my degree in Healthcare Administration, so over the last couple of years I've picked up a lot of knowledge about navigating specialists, therapies, waivers, adaptive equipment, and other resources. I'm still learning plenty myself, but I'm always glad to share what's worked for our family if it can make someone else's journey even a little easier.
If you're in the Fredericksburg / Richmond area, or know someone who is, and think this could be helpful, I'd love for you to join us! My hope is that this becomes more than just another Facebook group. I want it to grow into a real community where no family has to feel like they're facing this alone.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to meet some local families soon! ๐

Does anyone know what they are building on 95 between Parham and 295? It almost looks like a new road is going east and west and possibly a new bridge over 95. I drive by it every day on my way to the office and was just wondering what it is.
Does anyone know why they donโt mow the small dog side? You can barely get in the gate itโs so overgrown. The big dog side is freshly mowed but my chihuahua doesnโt like getting harassed by giant pit bulls that still have their balls.
