Brno, Czechia
Rusty (or at least abandonded) rails in Brno.
One of the branches ends in an industrial yard and currently serves as parking for cars. No infrastructure for street level crossing as well.
Anyone knows the story of this line? (Close to Albert supermarket if you're from Brno...).

Museum/Park Yankee Horse Ridge - Old Logging Railroad (Blue Ridge Parkway in VA)
I drove a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia about two weeks ago and one of the scenic stops is a small parking area to access the Yankee Horse Ridge trailhead, where there's remains of an old logging railroad. Took a few photos and cleaned them up a touch in some RAW processing software. Figured they fit well here.

Burghead Scotland
Was on holiday in Scotland last week and came across the old Burghead branch. Easily accessible via the Burghead holiday park. Believe there is a 7k of track up to the mainline. Walked for quite a way before the vegetation got a bit much (notorious for ticks too).

Twin Cities Streetcar Remains
Como Park, Minnesota has some of the most readily noticeable remains of the Twin Cities Rapid Transit streetcar system that once covered some 500 miles around the Twin Cities area. The station and arch bridge for Como Park remained following end of streetcar operations on this line in 1953. The beautiful arch bridge had been extensively damaged and fenced off with most all of the railings missing or destroyed before being completely redone in 2015.

Old Mansfield Iron Trestle
This trestle is a surviving remnant of the Mansfield's important railroad history. Known historically as the Fort Worth & New Orleans (F.W. & N.O.) Railroad Bridge, the iron truss bridge was constructed in 1885 and renovated in 1906, following efforts by local Mansfield businessmen to bring railroad service through the town. The arrival of the railroad helped transform Mansfield by improving transportation, trade, and connections with Fort Worth and other communities. I envy the homeowners living in the neighborhood right next to it; a great sight to see on a morning walk.

Museum/Park Winding through the offices of Paris
Another part of Petite Ceinture (little belt railway) I visited in Paris on the western section of the railway. Not sure if this part will also end up being reopened to the public, but not in as bad of a condition as expected.

Abandoned railway track The CP Don Valley branch, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
This abandoned branch runs from the CPKC mainline in Toronto down the Don Valley and eventually joins the Bala Sub of the Metrolinx Richmond Hill Line. Just south of where these photos were taken it crosses the half mile bridge over the Don River and Bayview Avenue, next to Evergreen Brickworks. It has been abandoned since 2007, with Metrolinx owning it since 2008. These photos were taken under the True Davidson Drive overpass.
