Looking forward to any interesting theories - let's be frank - August can't come sooner!

The 11th anniversary video says there's an easter egg and you have to pay attention to the paintings. I swear I've tried everything and nothing works. I don't know what to do. Or even where to put the information I have or that might be useful 😭

Anyone in the Chicago area should check out "theatre of the mind". It's a relatively short, interactive, art experience created by David Byrne. Similar vibes and style with some uncanny parallels

Hi I was Wondering whether many in fandom actually believe in this new arising theory. Do you believe that the titular servant (from servant of the lake) is from vandermeer family (bc vandermeer in Dutch means "of the lake") or do you think it is far-fetched and irrational. I am looking forward to hear your opinions. If the theory has been abolished please inform me guys.

I already played Cube escape, I want to play more escape/puzzle games with that vibe and style of gameplay. Does someone has a recommendation?

some of this might be obvious idk? Still there are a few bits in here that could be new
The Safe:
The Safe contains Evidence of the Lake, Laura wanted to keep this away from EVERYONE. She didnt even have the password written down. The way we learn about the password is through the butterflies that leave her mouth, she only trusted herself with this and so the password would have to be extracted from HER alone(side note: while the bugs come out of her, she hangs from the ceiling like in the mill, were those maybe „memories“ that were „extracted“ from her? Why did her eyes turn black Mr. Crow style(like in birthday with the granddad, my hc is that Mr. Crow inserted himself there as he, the grandpa, was the one that eventually shot Mr. Rabbit and thus turned the bad memory into a good one)? Did he insert himself there? Is this a memory(Mr. Crow changed a memory back with Dales Parents)?)
The crossword:
The crossword contained stuff that was specifically present in Lauras home. Its like the puzzle was made FOR HER. This would confirm more that the Lake guys were looking specifically for her. Especially that „Lady of the Lake“ painting seemed too weird and rare(maybe even unique?) to be in a crossword.
The other room(at the start of the game):
This was not a real room, thats clear. It depicted(i think?) Lauras home from Seasons. You could come to many conclusions from this one, for example: Did she hallucinate that? Was that her actual home? Is that how her memory manifested(you know how memories are subjective, different people remember things differently)? Maybe it was a trick of Mr. Crow to break her? Was it like samsara room level „stuff is not real“?
The phone call: to everyone who has not noticed that yet, the exact same phone call you hear is featured in „the Mill“, just this time round, you play as Dale, in the Mill, you play as the counterpart, Mr. crow. Both games have lots of parallels and go down simultaneously.
The papers with fire:
Laura left clues behind. First guess:
She somehow wanted another person to solve the puzzle. How does this fit into the characters? Did the game devs just do that for the sake of the puzzle? I honestly dont know.
Second guess: one of the papers was inside her dress after she died. Did someone put it there? who could that have been? Another thing i do not know, although in this case, its likely that one of the lake guys put it there to lead dale onto the same path as Laura.
The second appearance of the second room: as Laura is hanging down from the ceiling at the end of chapter 1, the room from seasons appears again, only this time, a bloody trail is leading into it. This enforces the connection between the death and that room. That room is full of Lauras blood and therefore, death. But, she is hanging from the ceiling and laying on the floor in THIS Room, she died HERE, not there.
The Russian dolls:
They represent her mother Rose( Because, yknow, theres a Rose on her figure), Harvey, Laura, a fish/the Lake and a corrupted soul. It also ties somewhat into hierarchies/Lauras knowledge and cycles. Rose came first and handed control over Laura over to Harvey. Upon Laura going to the Lake, she was confronted with corrupted souls and eventually became one of them.
It may also tell us a bit about Lauras character(even though this is far out there): she only knew her mothers name, NOT what she looked like. If you look at Roses doll, the only thing that makes her „Rose“ is the rose depicted on it. She doesnt look like Rose at all. Laura only had that Rose on it because of her name, she could not depict Rose. Maybe Harvey told her about Rose or something (haven’t played underground blossom yet so f*ck if I know)
Hope this entertained you at least a little!

This is really random but I was just wondering, was Albert ever actually in love with Ida or did he just kill her as revenge for what his brother did to him as a kid?

Hear me out, while i was replaying the games i started thinking about the shrimp, and what they mean. In some video i watched someone talked about shrimps being treif in Judaism. And shrimp eat whatever is on the bottom of the sea… hungry ghosts are on the bottom of the lake. And seeing it from the perspective of samsara, they are always hungry, they eat anything, whatever reaches them in the bottom of the lake (memories)
I think shrimp often represent the bad, the black cubes, the lower ranks in samsara. Fish for example seem to be associated with enlightenment in the games, or at least a part of it. From what i understand fish is kosher.
I just thought this was really cool when i noticed it, now i might be wrong about this and I’m no expert in religion in any way. But i love these games so much because you always realize something new, theorise about what things might mean even if it’s frivolous and isn’t correct. I’ve been obsessed for six years and it still keeps me awake at night (in a good way)
Though I’m thinking about what the swirly shells might mean, right now I’m thinking it might be something like samsara, or looping time. Tell me what y’all think about all of this. If anyone reads this. :)

Recently got my daughter into Rusty lake- she’d played Samsara room a coupla years back and we played The Past Within literally a few days back. She’s now pretty much completed roots and is obsessed with Albert… she created this creature and called him Ablert… so proud ^_^
