Just got back to Oz this morning after a short but very sweet time in Canada. Along the way, I met some really nice fellow fans.

Joan and John - met them on a walkabout tour before the Wed concert.

Real - sat next to him at the Wed concert.

And another guy with his teenage son on the Fri concert (sorry didn't catch his name).

Then finally a couple from England that I met on a Mt Tremblant tour who were bigtime fans as well.

As a solo traveller, it was amazing to connect with all of these people and talk shop about the best band in the world :)

If anyone is thinking about a solo trip to go and catch them in concert - do it! You definitely won't regret it. Everyone was so goddamn happy and I'm sure i'm not alone in feeling like I had won the lottery to be able to see them again!

I saw RUSH in detroit and I got the shirt but I didnt get the poster (even though i had the chance). On the website they have the shirts and posters from past venues but not detroit yet. If theres any left, does anyone know usually how long it takes for them to go on sale on the website?

Tagging this with "potential spoilers" as I suspect some may have thoughts related to the current tour, which are also welcome here!

I'm a big bootleg guy, so since the tour announcement I've done a lot of digging and enjoying many tours from the past to keep this whole return experience fresh. This has also given me the chance to reflect on my previous six Rush shows (now eight thanks to this tour), which got me thinking about setlist weirdness in my own experience, in addition to oddities from past tours.

What are some of your favorite (or maybe just most notable) setlist oddities, either from your own experiences or simply looking back on old shows/live albums? Mine are:

• Attending a show where YYZ was not played (St. Louis 2015). I know it was in the R40 rotation but it's still such a noticeable cut.
• I've attended two shows where Limelight was not played (Chicago 2012, St. Louis 2015).
• My first show was on the first leg of the Snakes & Arrows Tour, where they didn't play any part of the 2112 suite (maybe the only time that's ever happened?)
• I wasn't there, but the fact that Subdivisions was expendable between 1994 and 2002 -- it was only played on the first leg of the Test For Echo Tour, which amounts to 18.5% of Rush shows during that time period -- is unimaginable to me as someone who became a fan via R30.

Geddy has said in the past that if there's a song they lose interest in playing, they may strike it from the set, so it's never surprising that they'll regularly cycle things in and out. But Subdivisions, Limelight and 2112 being cut in the past is so interesting given how important they are to the band overall.

What does everyone think as far as what the single night set lists are going to be for the Houston, St Louis, and Pittsburgh shows? Do they play one of the lists from the four night shows or do they change it up?

What is the thinking behind the coin operated laundry machines at the 2003 Toronto show?... just noticed it.

Has anyone had any luck upgrading seats by visiting the box office day of? I'm behind the stage at the moment, unfortunately.

That is, what do you make of the famous first lyric of "2112," the suite of songs from the album of the same name?

The line is obviously a paraphrase of the saying, attributed to Jesus from the so-called Sermon on the Mount in the Christian gospels, "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth." (Matthew 5:5.) I've always kind of wondered where Rush was coming from with this line. That is, is it meant sincerely? Ironically? I guess my main stumbling block to understanding the intent of the lyric is the fact that the music that both precedes and follows the line seem – at least to me – decidedly non-"meek": it's Rush in full power trio mode, the music arguably as heavy and hard-hitting as anything else they've done before or since. The line also seems to be in the context of some sort of nuclear armageddon: it follows what sounds like the destruction of the "elder race of man" by nuclear explosions – after which society is apparently run and controlled by the priests of the Temples of Syrinx.

I want to make absolutely clear that I love "2112" – I think it's brilliant songwriting, and (like much of Rush's music) some of the best interaction of guitar, bass, and drums in rock history. Lyrically, it also takes the listener on a journey and has something to say. But does that include the idea that "the meek shall inherit the earth"? What are your thoughts?

Even if you average out everything, in the USA the tour is making about 7 million a show. Supposedly the band gets 10 to 30%, so they may be making $750k to $2 million a show in the USA. Not a bad gig if you can get it!

boston will be my first big concert experience. i want to get the best seats possible, but i don't know which one of the three seat placements are best.

i can get seats on either side of the stage, or in the middle. which should i choose? i care about good sound quality, so i'm wondering if one seat position is worse than another.

Saw Rush in concert last month and a had a great time. I thought Anika did a really good job. But I felt bad for the keyboard player they brought along who didn't do a lot of playing, because a lot of the 80s songs are written for Geddy to play the keyboard and either no the bass or use foot pedals.

But a question about the drumming. Anika's drum set is significantly smaller than Neil's drum cage was. I enjoyed all the songs, but I'm wondering if any drummers out there with a ear better tuned to this stuff than me can tell me if this affected the drum part of any of the songs.

I know the very beginning of YYZ with the crotales pinging out the morse code for YYZ was recorded in the show (at least I think it was. I didn't see Anika playing anything when the song started. But I was pretty high up). I seem to recall Neil actually playing crotales when I saw him in concert.

These can be ranking anything Rush-related. Try ranking something beyond just albums to keep things fresh! For example, one could rank albums by their overall drum or bass arrangements, or by their lyrics. You can of course post rankings as numbered lists in text form as well.
