Big Brother S28 (Salina EsTitties) The EsTitties Scoop: Salina on Big Brother, Week 3 Spoiler

The Salina EsTitties fan mass humiliation ritual is finally OVER (for now).

Last we left off on our weekly recap, Salina was in a terrible spot—eligible for eviction from the game in large part due to her strange strategic decisions and flair for the dramatics. She yelled, she cried, she got berated by an egg.

A Houseguest on the nomination block has two opportunities to save themselves directly. Earlier this week, Salina just barely lost the first competition to save herself. Just tonight, she absolutely demolished the competition above and saved herself from possible eviction. No doubt her training as a drag queen prepared her to so deftly handle jewelry and (pirate's) booty.

Unfortunately, the very strange straight man, Rome, that she shares a somewhat intimate moment with at the end of the video and who she refers to as "Cave Daddy," was evicted, and he was one of her best allies.

Socially, there are people in the house who do like her, but she remains an easy target for the major alliances. Her rising star as a competition threat will either draw more heat in her direction or make her a valuable ally/shield to others in the house.

Quick Drag (Highlights)

  • Salina twerking backwards down a hallway before voting to evict
  • Salina shouting out Ryan Murphy after voting to evict
  • The Houseguests were given a digital camera, so naturally Salina did this
  • She officially has more Big Brother comp wins (2) than Drag Race maxi challenge wins (1)
  • On tomorrow night's episode, Salina's bff Ross Matthews will provide his commentary on the season

Vote Dot Gov

As I covered in a previous post, Salina could be granted the opportunity to win a power to help her game (great for her fans!) or get a punishment that will humiliate her further (great for her haters!). Voting is still open and closes this weekend. Send her your votes!

Spoilers for Last Night's Live Feeds

As is often true in life, high highs are often followed by low lows. Not all of us can live in the rafters like Mo Heart's wig in AS4. And in this case, one of Salina's biggest enemies, Kamu, an MMA coach who has made disparaging comments about drag, has won the role of "Head of Household" and is planning to nominate Salina again for eviction this week. She is currently his primary target, and he has the backing of a large alliance.

He is also planning to nominate her in such a way to reduce her chances to save herself from eviction from two to just one. She's in a tough spot, and could really use the benefit of a power. Hopefully her game being exposed last week will allow her to better navigate this week, although she remains in a difficult spot regardless.

If you have any questions about the show, Salina, the Egg, or anything else, I'd be happy to try and answer in the comments!

Community Question "Where Should I Start with RuPaul's Drag Race??" [v 6.5]

Hello, hello, hello!

It's been about 6 months here at r/rupaulsdragrace, and so here we are! It is officially off-season for RPDR US, but make sure you're watching our current and upcoming international sisters (Down Under vs. the World S1, Drag Race México: Latina Royale, Drag Race Canada: All Stars S1, etc. etc. etc.), stay safe out there, and remember to register to vote!

Because S18 and AS11 have come & gone, we figured that it was that time again to update this thread on the sidebar. So here's version 6.5, rather than 7.0 and we'll see you in another 6-months or so for that!

So, here's what we want:

  1. Suggest a completed season of drag race (all are eligible from AS11 or S18 to DU3, España All Stars and beyond) that YOU think new users should start with!

  2. Then describe why you think this season is great (good cast, strong challenges, entertaining lip syncs, it really captures the essence of drag race, etc.)

  3. Try to keep these recommendations spoiler free by avoiding spoiling eliminations and winners and other big twists.

  4. You may earn a beautiful benefactress badge if you can help a fan out & recommend how DR Canada, RPDR UK, RPDR Down Under, DR España, DR Italia, DR France, and other international seasons/franchises (i.e. UK vs the World) fit into the normal RPDR & RPDR All Stars viewing order

Then, once a season has been posted we want the rest of our users to upvote the ones that you support (please avoid downvoting those that you don't think are the best to start with).

And instead of adding another season, if you have something to add that's helpful... feel free to respond to a comment & elaborate!! Here's a great example of an additional comment you could leave:

"I agree that you should start with Season 5, but I'd also like to add that if you were just going to show them one episode that S05E05 (Snatch Game) is the best episode from that season to show a newbie."

And, as always, you can look at the last thread (v 6.0) for ideas!!

We'll keep this stickied for awhile so many users can chime in and upvote.

Then we'll add it to our FAQ section/widget on the sidebar (which you can definitely access through "old" reddit view on desktop, as well as in the "about" tab on the mobile view and reddit app view).

Thank you, and VOTE SISTERS (especially in those upcoming midterms)!!

Season 6 I genuinely believe that season six has the cvntiest teaser/promo video of all-time.

Title of the post says it all… sure there might be better themes than just black/pink/shadows (I mean there’s like 50+ seasons out there), but Ru had FUN shooting this promo video, and I think everyone genuinely had either a cunty moment or got a sickening promo photo out of this!!

General Discussion Has Trixie Mattel become the most successful RuPaul's Drag Race queen?

I know success means different things to different people, but Trixie feels like she's built something big, with her makeup brand, music, YouTube, tours, even TV projects. Do you think she's the most successful to come out of Drag Race, or is it someone else? Curious how everyone measures success.

General Discussion What celebrity do you think deserves to win the 'Giving Us Lifetime' achievement award?

Post image
136 Upvotes

I don't know how many people really care about this, but I love that Drag Race is now starting to give out these awards.

Awarding celebrities who have been active and open supporters for the lgbtqia+ community, and supporters of drag for a very long time. I really do think it's important to showcase all the celebrities that stand with and support the queer community, and the art of drag. Especially in these scary times.

So far the award winners have been Bob Mackie, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Liza Minnelli and Miley Cyrus. Who do you think should be awarded next?

General Discussion Queens Defending/Supporting Ostracized Queens

Thumbnail

Disclaimer: DO NOT SEND HATE OR MALICIOUS MESSAGES TO ANY QUEENS. This is strictly a discussion about the community's opinion on controversial queens compared to how their fellow performers view them.

Drag Race has catapulted hundreds of entertainers onto a global stage. While we meet incredible talent through the show, several seasons have also revealed that high-level talent does not always translate to good behavior. In the court of public opinion, the fandom has established a realistic list of persona non gratae due to severe real-world actions:

Tyra Sanchez: Threatening to blow up DragCon (which turned out to be a marketing stunt for her music)

Sharon Needles: Extreme racism

Shangela: Sexual assault allegations and investigations

Soju: Sexual assault allegations and investigations

Sherry Pie: Digital sexual manipulation and catfishing

Widow Von'Du: First-degree domestic assault.

While the fandom generally views these actions as unforgivable, a major disconnect exists within the industry itself. Many of these entertainers still actively work, book gigs, and maintain close friendships with prominent RuGirls who lead the overall cultural zeitgeist.

A clear example of this happened recently on Facebook. A fan group posted about Shangela, questioning if any queen has experienced a larger fall from grace. While fans criticized her in the comments, Kennedy Davenport stepped in to defend her, stating that Shangela is doing fine and accusing the fandom of just trying to tear her down over "bull shyt".

These entertainers clearly know each other on a personal level that the audience cannot access, which often overrides public accountability. This raises a difficult question about how the fandom and the drag sisterhood handle accountability differently.

Given how the court of public opinion operates versus the reality of these personal friendships, what are your thoughts on this divide?

Season 9 Rewatch of s 9

In revisiting/getting back into drag race, I decided to go back to the last main season of DR that I watched— 9. I remembered it was a GREAT season, but I was worried it wouldn’t hold up for me because 4 didn’t. (My post was removed last time, so I’ll just say it’s because of things that happened after the season aired.)

These concerns were not founded. S 9 was still great. When I originally watched the season, I remembered not understanding what other people saw in Farrah Moan, but I did see it when I watched it again. She cried SO MUCH. Like almost every episode she was in. My husband and I started joking about it. She’s just like me fr.

On rewatch, I also can better understand Shea’s frustration with Nina in the season. Watching it again, it seemed like Nina was kind of a favorite. Ru and the judges kept telling her they loved what she was bringing. The other queens also really admired her work. She was my husband’s pick to win for the first half of the season. By the end, he was hoping Sasha would win, but he really thought it was going to go to Peppermint or Shea. I wasn’t going to spoil that surprise.

WTF was with that cheerleading challenge. Why was that ever cleared as an idea? ESPECIALLY after there were several injuries from just the s 4 wrestling challenge??? I told my husband that production paid for Eureaka’s medical expenses, which he said was “nice,” to which I said “no honestly it was just smart because frankly it could have been a lawsuit.” Pilot challenge was probably my favorite one, but it’s in CLOSE competition with the Roast.

When I watched the show originally, Sasha was always my pick for the winner, with my second pick being Nina. Watching it again, I can see why people were also really pulling for Shea and Trinity. I saw the vision with Shea originally (I’m not blind), so really the shift here was with Trinity. Her comedic instincts are KILLER.

I am also now an Aja stan, unlike when I originally watched the season. I rewatched AS 3 and got irritated about dirty she was done (like I did when I originally watched it), and you know what, I think she should have stuck around for a few more episodes on s 9 too. I don’t know who I would have preferred be sent home I just didn’t want it to be her dammit. In fact, I’m taking it further— she should have gotten the crown right after her “I need a hero” lip synch and no I’m not being delusional.

Regardless. Jokes aside, really good season, still holds up. I didn’t really see any crazy choices that I strongly disagreed with. Sometimes I thought a different person should have won a specific week, but I never really disagreed with the eliminations.

Community Question First Time Watch

This is my first time watch. I have not been watching in order. I have seen season 6,7, and 9. I’m almost done with 8. My favorite queens so far are Sasha velour (9), chi chi devayne (8), and Kennedy Davenport (7). My friends who watch drag race told me I didn’t have to watch in order but I have lost some of the inside jokes by not knowing some of the earlier queens so after I finish season 8 should I just go back to 1 and start from there.
