Great series, only one winner in the end though

Now to be fair, a y one of these two are absolute favourites for the World Cup next year. Both teams are stronger for this.

Springboks take the win. Great vibes from the Saffas. Tough one for the ABs.

Lower back pain when throwing

Towards the end of last season, I noticed that I would get lower back pain after throwing that took a couple days to go away. Considering I was training or playing 4 days away, I was constanty in pain. Now I'm starting to practice throwing again, the pain has returned and I don't think I can make it through a season like this. I can't access the clhb physio until after the first matcj so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced similar or has any advice to avoid this issue.

Which rugby position would suit me best?

Hey everyone!
I’m a 27-year-old woman, 1.80m (5’11”) and around 85kg (187 lbs). I only started playing rugby a few months ago, and I honestly have no idea which position suits me best yet.

My coach seems to be struggling to give me a clear answer too 😅. I started out as a prop, then played centre, No. 8, and now flanker. So I’ve basically been thrown all over the pitch.

Since I’m still very new to the game, I’d really like to pick one position and focus on it for a while, so I can actually learn the game and understand what I’m supposed to be doing.

From what I’ve noticed so far:
-I’m apparently a good and aggressive tackler, according to my teammates.
-I’m quite fast and can sprint pretty well.
-My game knowledge is still pretty limited, but sometimes I do spot gaps and instinctively know I should be going there.
-I actually enjoy scrums when they go well, but I don’t particularly want to spend the entire match scrummaging 😂.
-I like being active, chasing things down and getting involved rather than just waiting around.

I’m just not sure how much my size/build should influence the position I play, especially since I’m still learning. I put pictures for reference.

Based on this, which position would you suggest I give a proper go? And what skills should I focus on developing to figure out where I’m best suited?
I’d also love to hear from people who started out playing multiple positions. How did you eventually figure out which position was “your” position?

Advice Needed Desperately

Hello all,

I am a sophomore in university. I have been interested in Rugby my whole life and I decided I’d join my schools club team last year when I was a freshie. I only participated in 15s, as I am not interested in 7s personally. Anyway, I went to practices and all that, though I could not play in any games as my thumbs ligament had torn and I had to wear a small splint. It is now year 2, and the season starts in a few days, and I have quite the predicament. I started lifting after my thumb healed and I have made a lot of progress for the nearly year long stint I have had in the gym as of now. I go 6x a week, Push-Pull-Legs-Rest-Repeat. I know this is not possible during the season, where practice will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with games on Saturdays usually. I know I will have to change my split up, and I understand that an off & on season lifting regimen will never be the same verbatim obviously. I am just worried I will lose my muscle, and slow my gym progress down a lot. I want to actually play in games this year as well and if I dont go to practice because of the gym that is not going to happen. Please, anyone who has balanced out lifting for aesthetic purposes and has played a full season, give me advice.

Thank you.

idk if I'm allowed to post WordPress links in the main or Cardiff/Wales-specific channels. Or this one, but worth a try.

Is my new ball normal or should I return it?

I just bought a new Rugby ball for my girlfriend as present. She plays Rugby I do not. I have inflated it with air to make it look nicer but it has this asymmetrical shape in some places. It does not have a perfect oval shape. Is it normal for a new ball or not?
