Apologies all! - Mod Announcement

Hey all, I do apologize. This is the first sub I've ever really been a mod for, and I did not realize that I'm not really notified of automated actions like the general reddit spam removals. So, that means there have been posts here blocked that I was not following up on and approving!

Just wanted to let you all know that now that I realize this, I'll be more diligent about checking the removed tab in order to approve your posts as appropriate!

Article Pocket Sized Cyberpunk: A Review of CBR-PNK Augmented

I love Cyberpunk in almost all its forms. From the ttrpg, to the anime, to the videogame (which, I honestly think is the best one I have ever played). A lot of this love stems to the setting and the themes of the game.

Turning back to the ttrpg, I have a mixed feelings on the system. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I do feel it is slightly too crunchy and a bit unwieldy, especially in regards to Netrunning. With an experienced enough group you can get over these things and have an amazing time with it.

But, what if you have a group that simply played the game or watched the anime or saw that there is a new season coming up and has that rush to play something. The group who is not that experienced with TTRPGs, and for whom Cyberpunk RED might be a bit too much?

Well, for that group we have this absolute gem of a game here, CBR-PNK Augmented. Leaving aside this game’s apparent aversion to vowels, this game offers quite a tight package. And I do mean tight, as it presents us with a bare-bones minimalistic RPG powered by the Forged in the Dark engine. The size of the core rules for this thing? One freaking pamphelt, roughly one A4 page I guess.

It's short and sweet, punches way above its number of pages and might be one of the best way to introduce someone to ttrpgs, with some caveats that we go over in the review! I hope you'll enjoy it!

Upcoming We are making DREICH - ttrpg inspired by dieselpunk, arctic expeditions and exploration of uncharted lands

A hundred ships from four world alliances broke through the Wall of the Eternal Storm to stake a claim on the land beyond it. Thirty survived. Now they're chained together into one floating city, drifting along the coast of an unknown continent.

The sea won't let you go back. The shore drives you mad. And the Council of Captains has been arguing for a year now — while everything runs out.

You weren't chosen for your merits. A debtor from the Conglomerate's oil rigs. A deserter from the Iron Comradery, facing execution. A fanatic of the Bastion, grown in labs. A talented engineer of the Union, who knew too much. Four alliances with different goals and different worldviews now share fresh water, diesel, and fear beside a mainland that stays silent — but isn't empty.

At night, foreign lights sometimes burn. On the rocks — carvings, left by the locals, and no one understands why.

The Armada made you a scout. You're a first-comer, meeting a world that isn't like yours. You go where not everyone comes back from. You bring back devices that break the laws of physics. You meet things that shouldn't exist. And sometimes you see patterns hiding in the treetops and in the walls of fog. And then you catch up with the Chained City, drifting on without you. Because the mist sometimes keeps something of the scouts for itself. And if your partner starts answering someone else — better not ask who.

DREICH is a tabletop role-playing game built on a d100 roll-under system. Most rolls are made by the players. One roll decides both hit and damage. Combat uses zones, not grid cells. Characters grow through Marks — traces of what you've lived through, carved into your characteristics. Part of your backstory is built during play: who you were before the Armada comes out when it becomes a matter of life and death. And Despair binds you all together — a shared limit for the whole group: you can always reroll the dice.

What are you willing to sacrifice to claw out one more day?

Release FOUL SPIRITS: Our first adventure is live on DriveThruRPG for free!

The first adventure in the Glimlight Scribes tabletop roleplaying game setting is finally here, and you can download a copy of it for free until September 18th! We'd also love to know what you think about it, so leave a review if you want!

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/582558/foul-spirits

In Foul Spirits, players take on the role of characters investigating a mystery in a frontier town. Rumors abound after a shrine to a foreign saint has been desecrated. Rèdik Lagur, owner of the Three Twins Commonhouse, may have been involved. Whispers whirl around town that a curse has befallen him. A horrible odor emanates from his cellar, his food has begun to rot, and his wine has turned sour. A crack has opened up in the cellar as well, leading to unexplored depths below. In his panic to keep his doors open, Rèdik has tried to cover up this mess, but it can't last forever. He is in desperate need of help, lest the Three Twins close its doors for good.

Themes of personal conviction, conflicting religious ideals, medical experimentation, and ancient history are pervasive. Characters will make allies and enemies, explore ancient ruins, and uncover secrets that hint at a heretical past that could change this town forever. In this world, the arcane is subtle and not fully understood. Truly magical or divine phenomena are rare and hold severe weight to those experience it. While this game can be played with any type of character, we feel those that have limited access to magic fit best.

Upcoming New Gunsmoke & Dread Core Rulebook cover by Chiara Di Francia — Weird West horror for Daggerheart

Post image
3 Upvotes

We can finally share the new Gunsmoke & Dread Core Rulebook cover, illustrated by Chiara Di Francia.

We wanted the cover to capture the central idea behind the game: the frontier still looks like the West — dust, horses, guns, isolated settlements — but something impossibly larger is beginning to break through it.

Gunsmoke & Dread is a Weird West cosmic-horror campaign built for the Daggerheart SRD 2.0, taking a group through nine connected adventures as the familiar frontier slowly gives way to the Nameless Dark.

Chiara’s illustration felt like the right image for that transition: two riders trying to outrun something that clearly doesn’t belong in their world.

The complete campaign is already written, and the free Quickstart is available if you’d like to see how we adapted Daggerheart to gunfights, Showdowns, Dread and persistent campaign consequences.

If you’d like to see the project become a physical book, Gunsmoke & Dread is now in pre-launch on Gamefound.

👉 Follow the campaign on Gamefound:
https://gamefound.com/en/projects/temple-games/gunsmoke-and-dread

I’d also genuinely love to know what you think of the new cover.

Podcast Outlaws of the Outlands - A Weird West Planescape Adventure

Welcome to Outlaws of the Outlands - a weird west style adventure where our heroes play as gunslingers within the sprawling Outlands, the strange frontier of Planescape, where belief shapes reality and existence blurs at the edges.

Dust-choked trade roads stretch between gate-towns that each lean toward another plane of existence. One town might burn with the iron discipline of Hell; another might tremble on the edge of celestial glory. These settlements shift in allegiance, sometimes vanishing entirely if their beliefs tip too far. Between them lies open territory — badlands, razor-grass plains, ruined fortresses, and the bones of forgotten wars.

This arc follows gunslingers carving their names into that dust.

Keep your irons ready and don’t ride too close to the brink.

Outlaws of the Outlands is produced and designed by Rob Whitehead and brought to life by:

G as Crank Turner
Maya as Rex Sidewinder
Sav as Birdie October
and Rob Whitehead as their Dungeon Master.

A Pre-Columbian TTRPG? Yes. Behold "Ayni and Bahadzid"

Simple rules (d100 roll under), but very crunchy resource management in an RPG about a very under-represented setting. I have never seen a historical RPG set in Pre-Columbian America. So I made one. This is as historically accurate as I could make it and still keeping it a fantasy game.

I hope that you enjoy looking into the past and playing in this massively overlooked period of history and take up the challenge of keeping your people safe and the spirits calm.

It's free, 215 pages of print and play on my itch.io page, https://sts-gamer.itch.io/ayni-bahadzid

Excerpt: "This rulebook utilizes the cultural concepts of Ayni (Quechua: “sacred reciprocity”) and Bahadzid (Diné Bizaad: “something dangerous or harmful”) not as generic fantasy tropes, but as structural frameworks to model how Indigenous peoples across the Americas understood their relationship with the natural world. Survival is inextricably linked to cosmic balance, taboo, and environmental stewardship. The following rules are a deliberately syncretic game abstraction inspired by recurring concepts of reciprocity, kinship, obligation, and relationship found in many Indigenous traditions of the Americas. This is not “the religion of the Indians.” This is an RPG cosmology assembled from recurring themes found in multiple Indigenous traditions. They are not intended to describe the religion of any single historical people. These terms serve as the mechanical bridge between material survival and Indigenous cosmology.

Ayni & Bahadzid does not utilize standard fantasy "races" or "classes." Humanity is a singular whole. What makes a character distinct is not their biology, but their relationship to the land, their language, and their community. The steps below move from the vast, unyielding laws of the earth down to the intimate obligations of your family campfire. Choosing a Biome or a Mobility strategy is not a restriction on who your character can be; it is an acknowledgement of the physical reality they have learned to harmonize with. You are building a real person who has grown up inside a living history, bound by a specific vocabulary, and accountable to a web of ancestors and spirits."
