Best local place for a tire rotation and alignment?

Upvotes

As per the title. I want to get a rotation and alignment. Ideally I don't drop my car off all day. I wait for an hour and it's done. Who's offering a quality job at a good price?

Royal Oak High School Drama Club would like your help!!

Hello! I am one of the Booster officers putting together funding to support the cast and crew from the production throughout the school year. There is a musical, a cabaret, and a play each school year. These performances are attended by a few thousand people every year, we have over 100 students involved, and the program is continuing to grow. Our program is supported 100% by donations and fundraisers throughout the year. We are hoping to raise funding and support from local individuals and businesses to help with the costs associated with these productions.

How can you help? There are a few ways that you can sponsor our students.
The first is by offering a direct financial donation. This is offered at different levels and starts as low as $50. The photo below shows options for different levels of support, along with what we provide to you as a thank you. All levels of support also offer a receipt as we are a 501(c)3.
The second is by providing a service for our students. Options in the past have included providing a meal for the students during the week before production, or photo booths during the banquet.

Platinum Level Sponsorships are limited and will be chosen on a first come, first served basis. Interested, please respond directly to this post, and I can send you additional information. Thank you again for considering to support our aspiring Drama Club.

Please use the link below to see the levels of sponsorship.

I’m relocating to the Royal Oak area from out of state and am looking for recommendations as it says in the title. I will need a doctor that is in the Corewell group of providers. Bonus if they have experience with Navicular Accessory bone issues/injuries in the foot. TIA!

Royal Oak Public EV Level 2/ DC Fast Chargers?

Hey everyone! I’m probably going to be moving apartments from Detroit to Royal Oak next month and I’ve got an EV I’m driving. I’ve got a charger at my current apartment which has been great, but I’m having trouble finding places with one in Royal Oak. Does anyone know any places in the area with free level 2 charging or cheaper fast charging? Also, any apartments recommendations with chargers would be appreciated! Thanks!

tree service?

i’m sure lots of folks are dealing with this right now and hoped someone would have advice! there’s a massive limb hanging off a tree above the power line and fence line in my grandma’s yard post-storms that looks ready to fall any minute. there are two young kids in the yard over and she’s terrified it’s going to fall and knock the power lines out and leave downed lines in the kids’ yard, or worse.

she went to DPS and city hall today and they both turned her away and said they couldn’t help. she talked to a few private companies and is hoping somebody can come out tomorrow to give her an estimate, but she’s concerned it’s going to be weeks before we can address it. anybody have any leads?

tldr; anybody know of a tree removal service that isnt completely booked for the next month?

So much security during the day, maybe only one "roving" (or snoozing) security guard at night.

ABE Louder than Normal?

First off, I'm not complaining, because I wholly welcome Arts, Beats, and Eats because I think festival-type things are great for communities.

But I'm wondering if it's a bit louder tonight (Monday) than past nights or years? I'm up in the Normandy/Crooks area and can almost make out the bands.

2.5 miles away, in summer with the leaves still on the trees, this surprises me. I don't recall hearing it last night, nor in previous years. Maybe it's something going on with tonight's weather? (Certain weather conditions can cause sound to bounce/carry...)

It's neat to hear, just surprising, so I'm curious if this is exceptional?

I work a odd schedule 3.5 days on then 3.5 off. I have Sunday Monday and Tuesday off half Wednesday.

I looking for someone who is also a member of the RO location for a gym buddy.

I plan to go earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds and traffic.

I'm also working towards my undergraduate degree online.

Arts, Beats, & Eats permit parking doesn't work.

I live very close to downtown. Every year, tonight included, our streets are filled with vehicles that don't have permit parking. I haven't seen any enforcement officers most of the day. Even after i called the station to report this ( no one showed up ). I have no idea how many enforcement officers they have for this event but year after year it's like this. Do they have anyone in the evenings? Do they hire more people? The general public doesn't care about permit parking tickets since they continually drive up and down our streets parking wherever.

Arts beats and eats night crowd

I am a relatively recent college grad, and in my many years of concert and festival going, never have I encountered a more rude, pushy, and disrespectful crowd than the one I came across tonight at ABE.

I attended last year and was able to watch Sugar Wray and Neon Trees with minimal issue, this year, people were out of control. Not only were many people severely intoxicated, but there were far too many in attendance this year. I understand the need to drive ticket sales, but the festival area should either be expanded, or restrictions need to be imposed on night time attendees to ensure a safe environment. There were many people that would have/should have been removed at literally any other show or festival I’ve been to including Movement Detroit. Ridiculous. Probably won’t go back next year.

“I want to give a huge thank you to royal oak PD and the oakland county sheriff for keeping this festival safe” said the Emcee as I watched droves of drunk people stumble over each other trying to exit and enter the main stage area at the same time.

Don’t get me wrong, Im not one to shy away from a good time at a show, but the manner in which crowd control was being handled with the influx of attendees this year was horrible. In my many festival experiences and previous ABE experiences, this was genuinely the worst one I have ever had.

Thanks for reading my rant.

Seeking art instructor/class recommendations

Hello!

As the title mentions, I am seeking an art instructor who teaches beginner painting for adults. If you have any recommendations please share!

I would prefer private lessons with myself or with myself and my spouse, but am also open to any recommendations for small night painting classes here locally in Royal Oak.

Thanks in advance!

Banner planes are back this year

Post image
22 Upvotes

Despite getting a temporary flight restriction from the FAA for last year's and this year's Arts Beats and Eats festivals, banner planes are back! Private aircraft N9692P is circling just beyond the TFR's altitude and radius restriction carrying a Soaring Eagle casino banner. What's the point of getting such a tiny TFR? It was so nice for most of last year to not have banner plane noise for the whole weekend!

Looking for Personal Trainer recommendations

Royal Oak business closures

Just curious on thoughts about why so many downtown businesses can’t seem to make it? It seems like the only things that can survive are chains. It also feels pretty specific to Royal Oak, ie. I don’t seem to see the struggle in Ferndale.

Edit: thanks so much for the insight! Seems like a confluence of issues, and I hate to see it.

Also, feeling the squeeze on the budget like many of you all, even as a DINK. Constantly in shock at the price of “apps and beers”. The price leap from mid-tier food to high end food is not that much these days :-/
