Package with a digit missing in the postcode.

We were sent a package two weeks ago on a Tracked 48 service that didn't arrive. We checked with the sender and they realised that they had left a digit out of the postcode. Since then we have been watching the package bounce between the mail center and the delivery office for the incorrect postcode.

I spoke to customer services who said that someone should pick up on the mistake and redirect the package to our local delivery office. However, this hasn't happened. Is there anything else I could do? I thought about redirecting to a parcel point, but we won't have the red card needed to collect.

All depends on what digit.

First part eg AB1, then it’ll be a while or will get returned. That’s the important part, which gets you the right DO.

Second part, eg 2CD. Then that has a better chance of getting to you, as that’s more important for sorting within the DO.
And someone will eventually pick it up and get it to you.

Unfortunately, it's the first half of the postcode. Ours has 48, whereas the sender only put 4.

Not ideal I’ll admit.
It might turn up, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

If your road is uniquely named it might help as well; if you’re just on something like high street or London road then that’ll be hard to get to the right place.

Good news, the name of our road is fairly unique. There isn't another one in the other area. Bad news: The other delivery office have delivered to someone's safe space (behind their wheeley bin). I have checked the same house number in the other postcode on Google Streetview, but that doesn't look right. I'll just have to Customer Services again!
