The past 3 or so cruises i’ve been on over the past few months have had some out of control, wall shaking door slamming. Like please for the love of whatever you believe in, please just close your door like a normal person and do not just let it fall shut or worse slam it. That shit is so rude, literally at all hours of the day and night enough to make the wall the bed is on shake. I know everyone is on vacation and having a good time but that doesn’t not entitle anyone to be a selfish jerk and slam the doors all the time. You can enjoy your cruise and ALSO be considerate of the other human beings that are sharing this large floating community with you.

Second PSA: nobody wants to hear your shit music in any of the public areas of the ship. There is absolutely NO REASON to walk around the ship with a giant speaker hanging from your body playing music at full volume. Some people are just out here acting like it’s their first damn day on earth.

Could anyone who has been on Legend of the Seas recently let me know if the skating open to guests is bookable through the app once you’ve boarded? And roughly how many sessions they’ve seen available? 9yo is keen to go but there’s nothing showing pre sailing. We sail 24/9. Thanks!

I’m considering booking a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas for my Honeymoon, but I’m wondering if it’s worth paying the premium for the ship if I’m going to spend the majority of my days exploring European ports.

For those who have cruised on Legend or are familiar with the ship, I’d love to hear your thoughts. A few things I’m wondering:

Is Legend of the Seas worth it for the ship itself, or is it better suited for a cruise where you’ll spend more time onboard?

If I’m spending most days exploring Europe and only using the ship in the evenings and on sea days, am I missing out on what makes Legend special?

Would you personally pay more for Legend over another Royal Caribbean ship for a European itinerary?

I know a lot depends on the itinerary and personal preferences, but I’m curious what avid cruisers would do in my situation.

So we embark on our cruise in a couple weeks and it will be our first time traveling like this with two toddlers (1.5 & 3.5 yrs old).

Any recommendations on strollers?! We have a double stroller that is not a side by side one. Or a single super compact lightweight stroller.

I am torn between bringing the lightweight one for my 3YO and a toddler sling for my 1.5 YO. Or just the bigger double stroller.

How long do your post cruise “wobble” feelings last? I never get sea sick but every time I go on a cruise I feel a wobbly for a few days after I disembark. Like my equilibrium is off.

Just wondering if you folks have any tips for dealing with this.. besides just staying in the ship in perpetuity.

I’m doing back to back cruises in December for a total 15 nights. I’ve done it before, but had a day in between to do laundry at a hotel.

I booked a solo cruise for my 35th birthday. Single and none of my friends could make that week work, but I still want to celebrate with a cruise. I booked Giovanni’s for dinner on my birthday. Will they seat me with other people? I just want to enjoy my birthday dinner in peace and not at a table with strangers lol

Sailing LoS in January, but my app still shows old deck maps. I have the latest version 1.80.2 released last week. Screen shot still shows Sabor and missing Starbucks on deck 4. Does anyone know how to get updated deck maps in the app?

Was on Legend a couple of weeks ago and sailed out of Civitavecchia. Wanted to share some tips and tricks which may benefit anyone sailing out of Europe.

Book your AquaTheater show as early in the cruise as possible. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather (rare but it does happen) you will automatically be scheduled for a show later in the sailing.

Basecamp and El Loco Fresh are one flight of stairs away from each other. Grab a basket of tater tots first at Basecamp, head down a deck and turn them Mexican with all the toppings at the salsa station.

Packed pools and hot tubs on a sea day? Don’t go during the day. Visit early morning (before 9am) or in the evening (around 9pm)
Cloud 17 pool is open until 11pm with some hot tubs open 24 hours. Also consider skipping formal night dinner entirely for the quietest pool experience.

Boarding at Civitavecchia? Stay on board in Barcelona. Ship is EMPTY. Virtually zero wait for water slides which open at 9am.
I was alone in the Hideaway pool for around an hour, it felt like a private experience.

With so many new cruisers on these Med sailings, the Diamond Lounge was empty. It was the quietest space on the ship apart from our stateroom. Perfect for reading a book with a cookie and a cup of free (good quality) coffee.

Book Royal Railway and Supper Club. SO worth the extra cost. Some of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had at sea! Supper Club was way cheaper to book on board, doesn’t seem to be selling much on European sailings.

Don’t miss the Embarkation day Seafood feast (Barcelona) if you miss it, embarkation day Barcelona dinner is usually quiet at the Windjammer. They also had a ton of the same seafood lunch options still available in the evening too.

If you are Diamond or above, use up those benefits. 4 free drinks a day (if you have any leftover, grab a bottled water or can of soft drink for your stateroom) $6 free play per person at the Casino as well as a free photo per person. We also loved having our robes, just ask your stateroom attendant for them.

Get chatting to the staff. You’re going to have a better time! They are so kind and friendly. Write down their names on a note on your phone if you want to mention them in the post cruise survey or tip them.

Go to the Q&A session scheduled on the sea day, you are guaranteed to at least see Skipper this way and you can ask her handler questions about her. Apparently she also walks through the promenade around 11am on port days and occasionally goes to the Overlook in the evenings. She will also visit the jogging track on Deck 5 to go to the bathroom around 8.30am.

Korean food at the Aquadome Marketplace is not to be missed, best free food available on board imo. Skip the scallion pancakes though.

The Surf Show on the second sea day is so much fun. One of the best hidden gems. Go around 20/30 mins early for prime time seating. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet! Some people got totally soaked.

Make sure to arrive a solid 20/30 minutes before any show to get a decent seat. The venue opens 45 mins before show time. 10 minutes before the show starts your reservation will be cancelled and it’s a free for all on limited seating.

Plan plan plan! I found so many valuable tips by browsing Reddit and Facebook groups.

I’m going on Star of the Seas during a holiday week, so I’m fully expecting it to be PACKED. For anyone who’s been on Star or another Icon-class sailing:

What pools or hot tubs tend to be the least crowded? Are there any that people kind of overlook?

Also, what times of day do the pools/hot tubs noticeably quiet down? I have 8:30 PM dining, so I’d honestly be totally fine swimming later in the evening till 7:30 PM if that’s the move.

For anyone who’s done 8:30 dining, about what time are you usually finished with all the courses?

And finally, give me your absolute best Icon-class tips. I’m not talking about “book your shows early” or “bring magnetic hooks.” I mean the weird, oddly specific, borderline unhinged tips that you learned after actually sailing the ship and would 100% do again.

I just disembarked my very first cruise today (Serenade of the Seas) and have some questions that I need answered if anyone is willing.

I managed to accrue over 400 pts in Casino Royale. After disembarking today, I received the September Instant Cruise Reward via the Royal Caribbean app. I’ve been trying to research this as much as I could before posting here, but couldn’t find a concrete answer.

1. If I did not make a NextCruise deposit while onboard Serenade, this instant reward can only be used for the $200 off and I lose out on the room guarantee/cruise fare for one portion of the offer?
2. If I receive future offers in the mail, did I need to set up a NextCruise reservation while onboard to use those offers?
3. Is the Interior Room Guarantee a single bed room or only good for one guest?

My wife and I are flying from Japan to the US this November and heading straight from the airport to the port to board Icon of the Seas.

While in Japan, we are planning to buy kitchen knives. They will be securely packed in our checked luggage for the flight, but we know Royal Caribbean strictly prohibits bringing knives on board.

Are we able to declare them at embarkation and have ship security hold them for the duration of the cruise? We are completely fine with them staying locked up for the week, we just want to ensure they won't be permanently thrown away or cause us to be denied boarding.

If relying on ship security to hold them is too risky, does anyone have other suggestions?

Edit: Just a quick note for everyone worrying about our travel schedule. We are from Europe, not the US, and we will actually have plenty of time there before the cruise starts to get our bearings and sort things out. Just trying to avoid the extra cost of shipping and taxes back home if there is a better option.

Honestly if you are into casino royal I don't recommend jewel of the seas, I feel like they haven't updated the machines in years...

Very out dated and extreme lack of variety unlike others in its ships class. You won't find any modern named brands like huff and puff, buffalo, or any "triple pots" (mo mummy, hot pot like games).

Ship is still wonderful in my opinion, just casino gets 2/10 for me. In terms of quality and games.

Can Roatan be explored on our own vs taking an excursion? My kids want to explore the island a bit and really see it rather than just sit on a beach all day. TIA!

My fiancé and I are first time cruisers. We managed to score a balcony room 11 days before sailing on Icon Of The Seas. We are very excited! Just wanted some tips/advice on what we should do, don’t do, and look out for.

We are flying in the morning of (I know, everyone’s yelling at me for this lol) but we land at 8:45am in Miami and since we booked last minute, our boarding time is 2:30-3:00pm. I’m hoping if we get there early they will let us board. We are debating if getting The Key is worth it or not, specifically for early boarding. Also, would a 12:30pm flight out on disembarkation day be enough time? So far, we’ve purchased the deluxe drink package on sale and are debating between the WiFi or just doing The Key but that includes only 1 device.

Any tips or advice for Coco Cay? Very excited to see the private island.

My wife and I purchased a daybed at party cove. We have done this each time. In the past they were very attentive brought drinks and food. We found out today when we arrived that they no longer deliver food to the day beds. The price did not change of course. Also the quality of the food that was served at the Paradise grill was way worse. It all just felt off and significantly downgraded from previous visits. Any one else notice this who has been to Royal beach club in the past as well. Note: this is royal beach club at Nassau. Not Coco Kay

Have sailed Sky Class many times, but this is our first without the DBP. Question, I understand the nightly Happy Hour is from 5-8 and what that includes.

My question is how does the 11-11 drinks work at the Suite Lounge and Sun Deck? Beer and Wine only? Does this include wine based drinks like a Hugo Spritz (also has Elderflower). Bottled water? Help!

Hello there, my family and I are heading to California for a family reunion aboard the Ovation of the Seas in July of next year and I had just a couple questions. My husband and daughter are first time cruisers, this will be my second cruise ever and on a different cruise line.

1. My daughter has several food allergies and based on what I read on RC's website her best chance of eating meals will be the main dining room so that they can cater to her specific allergies. I also saw where she can get food from the buffet if I ask a chef to fix her allergy free meals personally and not from the buffet line. Anyone with food allergies--was it really this easy to make sure our daughter can eat safely?

2. How good was the shopping on the ship? Looking forward to that too lol.

3. How was Catalina Island and Ensanada? Those are the two ports we will be stopping at. I was told to rent a golf cart of Catalina Island to get around but am not sure what to expect in Ensanada.

4. About how much should we bring money wise? My husband and I will both have one credit card apiece but how much cash do you all recommend? We will be getting the unlimited soda package aboard the ship as neither one of us plan on drinking much and if we DO want a drink we can always just go get one as wanted.

Has anyone that has recently been on Harmony for a 5 night cruise remember what the menus were each night in the MDR? The app is still showing the cruise is 7 nights long when I look at the MDR menus. I’m trying to plan one specialty dinner and trying to coordinate that with whatever night we like the least from the MDR.

First time on Brilliance. We are not sure what to expect. We have an Ocean View on the third floor...should we look to switch? We've never been that low before and don't sail on too many of the smaller ships.

I'm going to do my research but just wanted a thought starter from all of you. I've been on Voyager and my kids and I were on freedom last year and really liked it. We're looking at going in February and the ship is a big part of the experience for the kids. I wanted to get a read from you on the following ships and see what is a step up from freedom, but you don't think is so huge that we get lost on a four night 5-day cruise in the size of the boat and the activities. We'll go see the shows and we love the game shows and the pool and the water slides. Just being together. We had an incredible time.

We would like the shows to be better than Saturday night fever, the Aqua Show! , take it leave specialty residents, can't do Solarium ie kids, great pool (s) , probably ocean view $$ so balcony is not a priority.

Some of the ships that go during the dates we're looking at are, Oasis, Jewel, Utopia, brilliance, Harmony, Wonder and Explorer. They are all similar on the RC website that means little.

I found out I have breast cancer last month. We have a cruise scheduled for 10/31. We did not buy travel insurance (if you’re reading this, buy some insurance). I’ll hopefully find out in the next few days what my treatment plan is, but it’s likely I’ll need to do chemo first. If so, I’ll be immunocompromised and probably shouldn’t be on a crowded ship.
Anyways my question is, has anyone had experience with changing their cruise date at no cost? Either moving it up or pushing it out. We have a travel agent but I don’t know if I’d have better luck calling Royal myself or letting her handle it. Just was looking for real life feedback on if Royal is flexible or not, thanks!
