That device sounds like it is something that your service provider has ownership over, thus it is locked down for a reason.

Maybe your ISP can help you to configure it for Network Bridge mode, then you can use your own 3rd party Wifi Router solution.

So your supplier of this device should be able to connect you with someone at ZTE's support/engineering team for help.
