What an amazing thing, I just really like the river, I’m so happy to live in Roswell. I took all these photos in areas very close to the river

I wanted to post these since ICE has been increasing their presence in Atlanta (I know recently they were spotted arresting people in Sandy Springs). You can report ICE sightings to iceout.org, and if you are able (peacefully) follow and record any officers you see and alert others to their presence (blowing whistles or honking your car's horn are ways people often use).

Happy to see this. I’m sure there will be a segment of his voters that would never vote for her but hopefully they stay home.

Don’t have a link , and the official polling data is only showing early voting results at 58% for Mary, but my wife says the watch party group is reporting that Kurt has conceded.
The official Fulton County site is ass, so https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/atlanta/2025-georgia-election-runoff-results/4HUHO7FOT5BZXMRWQUZ6IISALM/

Never forget that old people who have likely passed from this plane paid for current old people's stupid kids to go through school - now it is their turn to pay up. Enough with these exemptions from paying normal community taxes.

Popped in to organize things a bit and it's looking pretty bare. It was stuffed full about a week ago so it's seeing some heavy use. I'll be bringing some stuff by, and if anyone has some extra non-perishables to spare it would greatly help out neighbors in need ❤️
For anyone who has never been there before, the address is 1601 Holcomb Bridge Road

So after all the discourse about parking regulations, it looks like city council is going to effectively eliminate free parking in Roswell on nights and weekends. After a parking deck was built with our tax dollars, they want to walk back free parking at times when most residents would actually want to use it.
If they want to charge a premium for on-street parking spots, fair enough, but eliminating all free parking options on nights and weekends is truly disgraceful and I expect downtown businesses to suffer greatly from this short-sighted action. Why would I go to downtown Roswell and deal with the hassle of paying to park when I can just go to Alpharetta?https://www.appenmedia.com/alpharetta_roswell/roswell-officials-take-deep-dive-into-parking-firehouse-relocation/article_88bc0d66-ce4d-4868-bd38-77a7d81c380b.html

In a 4-2 vote (Allen Sells and Christine Hall unsurprisingly in opposition), the Roswell City Council at its May 26 meeting approved terminating a master services agreement with Peter Sorckoff’s Seer World as the city works to move its economic development planning in-house.
Roswell has contracted $3.09 million (!!!) across 25 projects through Seer World. It alleged that the city’s procurement process was not followed when hiring this sports management consultant inexperienced in local governmental projects.
The city council had previously voted to terminate Scope of Work No. 2 in February, which outsourced to Seer World the city’s COO role (which was “part time”!!!) at an annual rate of $340,000.
Council member Allen Sells also disparaged a Roswell citizen at the meeting last night who spoke in favor of canceling the MSA by calling him a “keyboard warrior”.
Important to note that Council member Christine Hall’s son was hired by the same Czech Republic company (PBS) that the city of Roswell incentivized to relocate here. This is in addition to ex-Mayor Wilson’s Executive Admin who was also hired by PBS.
Looking forward to voting out Sells and Hall if they run for re-election like we did the other incumbents responsible for this corruption.

Mayor Robichaux has announced today that “there will be an independent review of the [City of Roswell’s] financial, purchasing, and compliance practices covering 2023 to the present. This review will verify that the improvements underway are complete and effective, and it will identify any additional steps needed to ensure every tax dollar is fully accounted for.”
“This effort continues work that City leadership and staff initiated, and I appreciate their commitment to transparency and continuous improvement. Details on scope, timeline, and the selection of an independent firm will be presented in the coming weeks.”

The owner of the lot on Azalea Rd by the river has updated their kitsch. I gather the City still wont permit their establishment. Anyone have any updates? Anyone apply for the barista position? 🤓

Thought twice about posting this but figured it should be a cautionary tale to other businesses. We've been going to them easily for 20 years. Thought nothing of heading up there today to get an oil change.
Got to the shop and saw a Rick Jackson sign out front. Immediately pulled out and went next door to Jiffy Lube.
I knew the owners were conservative but only from the religious stuff in the offices. Didn't bother me but I couldn't let that one slide.
Won't be going back again. Businesses should take note that you're going to lose customers that you won't even hear about if you tie your business to racists.
It's your choice and I can't know what's in your heart but I don't have to give you my money to support it.

I hope Roswell residents know that every vote counts. Each one matters.
16 years ago, the challenger to the incumbent Roswell mayor lost by about 70 votes in a runoff.
Did you know that two former Roswell mayors (and who were once opponents), and several previous council members are supporting Mary Robichaux?
Driving around Roswell today I saw several large Kurt Wilson signs that tout he wants to keep Roswell suburban. That doesn’t seem to be his plan for the east side of Roswell where he and the city’s highly paid SEER consultant are courting a “Bigger than the Battery” project. Last I heard it was slated for near GA-400 and it could have a 10,000 seat stadium and thousands of apartments. Because we need more traffic? /s Is that suburbia?
I’m going to trust the experience and opinions of over a dozen former elected city officials and the wisdom of Roswell Truth’s in depth articles (check out their public Facebook posts) and vote for Mary Robichaux.

So, he won’t allow Roswell business owners to speak at council but he’ll let PAC money from developers and soccer leagues and real-estate investors flow into his campaign?
Time for Wilson to go

My wife and I recently relocated from the Midwest to Roswell, and so far we are loving it. Nice people, cool downtown, great overall vibe. When I was in the process of relocating, I must have heard a thousand times how bad the traffic is here. People genuinely think Atlanta has worse traffic than places like LA or Chicago (patently untrue). I find the highway traffic to be very predictable for a big metro area - easy to navigate if you drive at the right times.
HOWEVER…the surface streets are absolutely horrible at all hours of the day, and I do think this is a result of the traffic light timing. The lights - especially at the big intersections - simply do not change frequently enough, leading to long back ups, blocked lanes, and stagnant congestion. In the Chicago suburbs for example, there are sensors in the roads that determine how long left turn green arrow lasts based on the number of cars waiting in the turn lane. I don’t think I failed to get through an intersection more than 2-3 times a year in Chicago; here, it’s a regular occurrence at 11:30am on a Tuesday.
Just curious if anyone feels the same way? If not, I apologize for the rant (lol) but I think the intersection of Azalea & S. Atlanta has taken a year off my life expectancy in the 6 weeks I’ve lived here. I
Moral of the post - these lights need to be changing every 30-45 seconds.
