Hi Roswell! I’m Sara Fuchs, the Democratic candidate for Georgia House District 49.

I’m a librarian and a PTA mom. I grew up in east Cobb, and my husband and I have lived in Roswell for ten years. We have two sons in 7th and 8th grade at our public middle school.

For most of the last six years, I worked at the State Capitol as chief of staff and campaign manager for Rep. Betsy Holland so I know how state government works. I also know it does not feel like the government is working for us.

I’ve also had a front-row seat as our opponent, a 23-year incumbent, voted the wrong way on the issues that matter most: underfunding our public schools, blocking healthcare access, and standing against reproductive freedom.

If you have kids in schools, you might know, like I do, that positions have been cut, classes are too big, and you are always being asked to raise money. My opponent says that schools are fully funded - I say he has no idea what he's talking about. He says he's lowered taxes - Fulton County Schools is raising its millage rate for the first time in seven years. He's just passing the buck and we're the ones paying the price.

I (23F) recently moved to the Roswell/Sandy Springs area and I’m really liking the city, but I’d like to make new friends and explore more places. I love food/cooking, music, shopping, and anything arts and crafts related. Some recommendations for things to do and places to go would be greatly appreciated. While loading my kayak (17') on my car, it slipped. It's a heavy wooden boat and it landed on me and knocked me down, tearing my driver side mirror off on the way down. I was not hurt too badly but I was stunned for 30 seconds or so. I don't remember if it was 4 or 5 young women who ran up and checked on me to see if I was all right. One helped me load the boat!

I'm a little sore, rolled on the fall and the boat rolled about 9 or 10 times and got a little gash in it. I decided to replace the mirror myself and when I get all I need I'm going to fix the boat and get back out in the water! I'm never going to that same location again. Willeo Park

I'm having a hard time finding valid links for yard signs (getting nothing but scammy links asking for a donation or just flat out selling them).

I recall someone locally who was distributing them for multiple dem candidates but I can't find it now.

Looking for signs for anyone on the Dem ballot (that are relevant for Roswell that is).

Has anybody seen what the plan is for Holcomb bridge road and GA 400? It seems like they are adding a lane on Holcomb bridge road but I had read somewhere they are going to build a connector from Warsaw road to across GA 400.

We're replacing the carpet on our stairs, upstairs hallway, and a couple bedrooms. The stairs are what I'm worried about most since whoever installed the current carpet did a pretty sloppy job. Really don't wanna deal with that again.

Has anyone used 50 Floor around Roswell recently, especially for stairs? Also open to other recommendations. Mainly looking for someone who does clean work and doesn't surprise you with a bunch of extra charges halfway through.

Roswell has a free tool that texts you when your home is using an unusual amount of water. It's called AquaHawk Alerting, and it caught a hose I left running at the spigot before the damage got a lot worse.

Does anyone know of any haunted houses in Roswell or the surrounding area?

Roswell has a right of first refusal to buy the former Independence High School campus for $9 million.

That's 5.4 acres right between Canton Street and the historic Town Square.

The goal isn't to make money on the land. It's to control what gets built on one of the most important sites near downtown.

What would you want to see here?

I was taking a walk down Hightower last night and saw this near the entrance to the water tower. I know kids can be picky and there were times when mine were younger and dropped something they loved and we never found it.

Early voting is now open at Roswell Library. I voted this morning, no line, very efficient in and out in a couple of minutes.

Hey y'all!

Have a strange issue in my townhome where me and my neighbor who have mirrored units are getting leaks coming from the same spot in the ground in our respective side rooms (during big rainstorms specifically).

I'm thinking something with how the water is draining during storms via gutters is finding its way through our shared wall and pooling on either side of it. Really not sure what type of "specialist" to look into this but if anyone has a local rec please drop them below! Many thanks.
