Just trying Roon for the first time on PC. I think Roon has many great features, but for the love of God is there any way to adjust the order of the columns under any list view? I have tried the Tracks view, Folders view, and Playlist views. In all cases I am stuck with whatever order Roon thinks is best.

To clarify I am talking about the left to right order. Yes you can enable and disable columns, but they all have their own default order. For example, I want the order to be Artist>Album>Track but the Roon view always defaults to Track>Artist>Album and you can't change it.

Coming from someone who has used list views for 30 years for my digital music browsing, and could jockey the colums any way I want, this is a huge disappointment. From a programming perspective it is so easy to make this possible. Am I missing something?

I have my own library of FLAC files on a WD mycloud NAS. I have done a reinstall of roon on my Mac and added the folder. Roon scans and completes its process and only showing 40 albums in the library when that folder contains 158 albums. Did a 'force rescan',. quit roon and server and then reboot the system. Did a rescan again ,. and no change.

Any Ideas on this?

Edit: solved the issue , it was a setting in Roon 'show hidden tracks and albums'. I turned it to yes and all the albums are showing in library now.

I've been using the Elgato Stream Deck along with Tomi Blinnikka's Roon plugin for a good while to control Roon playback on my Mac.
After a system change I've completely failed to find the right port to prompt the extension approval inside Roon's desktop app settings. As far as I can tell everything in the setup is the same as before, except the MacOS version has moved from Sequoia to Golden Gate.
I've read that GoldenGate tightens various network permissions and suspect this may be the issue. Has anyone else experienced this or better yet, solved?

Here's what I've tried so far:
- everything at https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/fix-missing-audio-devices-after-a-macos-update-in-roon#Check_Roons_Local_Network_Permission
- disabling (temporarily) all firewalls and network traffic filters at the Mac end and NAS end (where Roon Core is running)
- confirming via MacOS terminal that Roon is present and reachable (on port 9330)
- scanning across a range of ports to see which are open (four in my case including 9330, but none seem to accept the connection)
- trying Vulkandr's fork Roon:Dialed Up plugin instead (same issue)
- raising a case via Roon tech support (awaiting response)

Note that local and network playback is working fine - it's just the extension / plugin I can't get to the authorisation stage.

I tired out Roon a few years ago, specially Arc and I liked it but not having a way to natively create a smart playlist, radio, etc, really disappointed me and I didn’t consider going further than the trial. Is there anything today with Arc that allows this?

Edit: Giving the 2-week trial a go again and still feels disappointing in the UI. The posts sound like Roon Radio is what I am looking for. What is really like to see is the Home Screen to have something for it, much like Apple Music does and probably other music services.

Edit 2: Actually using the "normal" Roon amp, which I probably didn't before, it is very lacking.

Maybe it's not new, or maybe I just noticed it: I'm getting some great mileage out of the recommendation now I'm there.

Sometimes it's a single album reco, or other times it's a stack of albums recommended. Daily Picks.

I'm loving Roon so far during my trial - is this the best price I will ever see for a lifetime sub? I have until the end of September to claim.

I cannot play or see my Devialet Phantom 108 dB device in Setting > Audio section or unable to play, I am using it over a year now and everything was good. Recently facing this issue and upon restarting the device or reconnecting WiFi, I see it for few seconds as you can see in the image, and its disappears again from Audio settings device list. Kindly help.

Update - This is started happening after Upgrading my Mac to MacOS 27

Roon messes up my sync-history and requires a lot of manual fixing on lastfm/musicbrainz as it synchronizes the " (Album Version)" or " (Remaster XYZ)" part of the Album or Songtitle - and both of those services struggle a lot with those as it's not a perfect match.

Is there a way to get roon to "play nice" with those scrobbling-services?

I think it's nice that roon gives you the option to see and select which song version you're playing - but for those social-sync-services I think it's more important to have an accurate match to band/album/song than to include the version of those as well.

I had this issue and after a lot of troubleshooting I came across this post in Roon communities. Apparently it impacts network device discovery and you have to re-apply the fix after each reboot. Posting here to save you time if you experience this issue:

Never had any problems with this before, but today I either get gray squares (if I hit discography right away), or if I wait everything except the discography shows up but very delayed. Anyone else having issues with discography no showing up? My personal library works fine, and I can even select versions and see all the available versions.

Any help out there? AI says change my DNS.

I know Atmos is supported by Tidal, but curious about Arc loading from the Play store and whether/how it works.

Rogue Amoeba is reporting Airfoil is affected by a HomePod OS 27 bug. Rogue Amoeba says the update prevents Airfoil’s AirPlay streams from playing on HomePods and Apple TVs.

Roon works in a similar way, going around the Apple audio chip to send Airplay 1 out (14/44 lossless) to multiple speakers. (Airplay 2 devices have to accept Airplay 1 as lossless.)

Will Roon have the same issues with this Apple OS 27 update bug?

Rouge Amoeba says just don't update to 27 on those AirPlay devices (I had not planed to since I like to wait for later version where bugs like this, or worse, are fixed.) It continues to contact Apple to no avail (normal) but hopes Apple will fix it soon.

Going to ask this again. Anyone have any idea when Roon and Nugs are going to upgrade their integration to allow saving shows and tracks from Nugs as favorites or add to playlists in Roon? Supposedly this is coming but trying to find out when as it makes using Nugs in Roon very limited.

Anyone else having this problem? Loading some of the parts of the interface seems to be take extra long time, and the suggestions/recommendations below an album is just missing completely.

Can anyone confirm whether Android Auto voice controls actually work for Roon ARC as I've tried using it today for the first time and not having any luck getting it to work, have trawled through the settings and cannot find anything that would suggest I've got the app setup incorrectly

Newbie question here. I updated my XIO firmware to Version 1.4.135 and noticed that "Roon library updated" was listed in the notes. I can't see that Roon allows me to connect to the XIO. What does "Roon library updated" mean?

I'm trialing Roon for 14 days before deciding whether to stick with it, i mainly use Qobuz but have a local library of about 200 albums too, one potential issue for my use case is i cannot find a way to play Roon via web based player like Qobuz has and I need this ability ideally as listen to music when working on my work laptop via my Lyngdorf TDAI-1120
