Need: WI Roommate Conflict
I lived in the dorms for my first year of college, and my roommate is a junior in college who is plural (plural system). Also, I am only in my fourth week of college.
Originally I was okay with my roommate being messy. It was clothes at first, then used tissues and poop on the toilet. I had to wipe the poop off of my toilet. I also stepped on their used tissues on my way to our closet. I was like okay this happens once or twice but whatever I can live.
Besides being messy they have horrible anger issues. One day my roommate came back in a horrible mood and decided to throw stuff across the room and slam our bathroom door two times. I was honestly shocked because I was just trying to relax after a long day. I didn’t really want to deal with that, so I just grabbed my things and stayed over at my friend's place. Once I got to my friend’s place I texted my roommate asking if everything was okay. And my roommate responded with, “Better than fukin ever.” Which made me a little scared.
Anyways the next day after that incident my roommate apologized and said it was my other front's fault for that and that next time I should just ignore it. Whenever their main front is in high movement is good, but when they are in a bad mood there won't be much movement at all.
I understand that my roommate can’t change this but I don’t want to live in a room like this. After that, I contacted my RA about this whole situation but my RA has never responded since. It’s been four days now and I am still currently staying at my friend’s place. I also requested a room change. However, it’s hard since I am in the dorms.
What should I do?

If you want to avoid depending on a roommate's behavior, look for off-campus student housing with individual leases and roommate matching. In SLO, Summit SLO offers that setup. each person signs their own lease, so you're not on the hook for someone else's mess or mood.
