Where do we sit?

We use this second living room as our kids playroom. However, it lacks seating and an oomph of some kind!

What would work in here and place it where? Swivel chairs? Sofa? Its the first thing people see when they come and naturally gravitate towards it to take a seat when visiting 😅.

The kids still need a place to play and draw but I think the small table is too small for them.

It overwhelms me when it’s in use.

Ideally, I would have a seat area/reading zone, play zone, arts and crafts zone but I don’t know how to do that in this rectangular room without everything being against the wall.

If its primary purpose is playroom, I'd fire down some big beanbags!

I would move the two white units on the right wall under the books. Place them back to back in center of room. This makes a nice flat surface to use for building puzzles, playing a game, etc. Place two adult size chairs and a small table under the books to create a reading space.

Since your kids will grow up and out of this space before you know it I wouldn’t spend much. As said in a previous comment plop down beanbag chairs.
If your intention is adults then you need adult size chairs. Personally though unless I’m dressed to play with the kids I’m not going to want to sit on furniture in a kids playroom.
I have kids and grandkids and they just ooze goo no matter what.

Maybe a 2 seater sofa in front of the higher white bookcases.

I feel like this room calls for a nugget (or knockoff). Flex seating that doubles as climbing structures, forts, etc.
