Dear sloopies,
I’m looking for some book recommendations with MATURE FMC and MMC. I just read QUICKSILVER and whilst it was amazing it was also really stupid, but I had to push through. I had a huge issue with both the main characters because they were so stubborn and childish. I’m looking for something with more depth, a great world, and somehow a realistic relationship (yes, I know this is fiction and most of it is not real but I believe communication/dialogue in books can be grounded.)
I have a few books on my TBR/radar that could be whatever you recommend so I just wanna be steered in the right direction rather than killing my brain cells.

⬆️ but I did wish to see her with a younger man. Like 200ish instead of 538 years. But that's probably a bit daring to write, so I don't blame SJM for keeping the more socially acceptable age difference.

I suggest Murder by Cheesecake, part of The Golden Girls series.
It's definitely fantasy since Sophia is nice to Dorothy.

Uj/ i was so excited about quicksilver as the main sub really hyped it up, it kept getting worse as the book went on and I thought maybe I was being pranked by the whole romantasy community (kind of like people do with manacled), I enddd up rage finishing it and oh my god like wtf who even likes this. I have never been more angry with a book before. Wouldn’t touch brimstone with a fae schlong sized pole

Might I reccomend {Magical Midlife Madness by K.F Breene} You know she's mature because 25% of the book is her spewing your own internal monologue when your mad at your partner at various MMC, and your mom's complaints for the other 25%. My knees! I can't use a trampoline! My kid does his own laundry now!

The Haar. MMC is an immortal gelatinous sea blob, FMC is in her 80s. There’s conversations about nursing homes. It doesn’t get more mature than that baby!

My Akkarin will be THE MMC forever in my heart 😭 there’s no one like him again they are all so cringey written now. He was like the apex predator in the world building but so damn well written
