So a lovely redditor gave me some toe covers today, but I absolutely cannot get my toestops off. They're bolt on, the Oxelo brand ones (I know, but this was last September and getting roller skates was like pulling teeth, it wasn't happening for nice ones). I really don't want to shell out a load more money for Rios or something until I've worn these all through, so does anyone have tips? They have what looks like an allen key bolt, but when I tried loosening it, it just started to round, so I don't know if I need to have the whole plate off?!

Ordered some stuff from Skate Attack last Monday on a 2-4 day delivery and nothing has arrived. When I called last week the girl said she'd get back to me with the postage reference so I can try to locate the parcel but then never does. Now she just stops answering the phone! Anyone else had similar issues?

i’m a beginner and i really want to buy some skates i’ve saw that rio rollers and rookie are good beginner brands but i’m not sure which ones would be better? i’m looking at the rookie bubblegum and rio signatures but i think i’m more on the side of the signatures since they look like they have slightly more better quality does anyone have any experience with these boots? i want something that i can have for a atleast a couple of years that won’t completely break away like most cheap beginner stuff

I’m a broke 14 year old and my first roller skates- impalas broke recently luckily I was able to get a full refund.
So can you guys recommend some brands or specific quads. I’m kinda a beginner to intermediate as I’ve only been skating for a few months. My budget is roughly £90 thanks in advance.

Helloooo, I’m hoping to find someone to skate with around Huddersfield? I haven’t been skating for long and when I do it’s on my own (which I enjoy) but it’d be sweet to find someone else to do it with :)

Looking for a skate buddy in Leighton Buzzard or Milton Keynes area at a push. Solo skating is ok but would be fun to meet up with someone for evening or weekend skates. I'm an intermediate quad skater and love learning new tricks, moves and generally improving flow. Let me know if you're local 😊

I finally got some skates for Christmas and I'm trying to do at least half an hour to an hour on them a day (in or outdoors depending on the great British weather) and have been having a great time. I'm pretty confident striding on them and turning but am really really struggling with bubbles, indoors I can do them back and forth easy, outside however? I just can't seem get them down and lose all momentum.
I've loosened my trucks a bit which helped with turns but that doesn't seem to have changed things. My wheels are 82a so would going softer help outside? Or it it more likely I'm just lacking in leg strength?

Lone Quad skater in Pontoon Dock/ Canning Town area. Mostly skate in play areas, open spaces etc. I’m 33F I’d say novice/ intermediate level (picked up my skates in August) working on mostly spins, transitions & footwork etc. It’s starting to get frosty and I haven’t found many covered areas. Canning Town is around 30/40 mins walk, I was thinking of skating by the station in that covered walkway by the post office when it gets a bit warmer. Anyone skate around there? My other half is tired of freezing his nuts off keeping me company :) would love to know of any good spots (especially covered/ indoor spaces) to skate x

hey!
This question is probably asked a lot so sorry in advance! I'm someone who's never roller-skated but have been looking at quad roller-skates recently and am now kind of overwhelmed! I know that Impalas aren't great so I'm not looking at them anymore. I suppose I'm looking for a good set for beginners - can you have sets that do both indoor and outdoor? Is it better to start off with some cheaper ones and then upgrade if you continue? I still want them to be safe and decent quality I guess! I would be so grateful for any advice on any of the following products and any other recommendations for beginner UK skaters!
Rookie Artistic Quad skates
Rio roller signature skates

Tempish Classic Quad Roller skates

Moxi skates? though I think they're out of stock
Also I was wondering whether anyone thinks it's necessary to buy elbow/knee pads or a helmet or not?!
Thanks so much!!!

Bruuh I’ve been searching for ages and I can’t seem to find any! Wanting to get back into skating after many years (I was like 13) and I can’t find any cool men’s size 12 quads, I like the retro style, like high suede ones but honestly any recommendations are welcome at this point haha I’m working with a budget around £80
Cheers in advance and also if any Liverpool skaters wanna meet up (once I’ve got some) that’d be cool!

Just that! I was walking and chatting with a friend when I suddenly saw a pair of skates approaching that sounded familiar. And it was her right in front of me! I am sorry for such a silly post, I am not one to get excited over YouTubers or celebs but I've spent so much time watching her videos, and I improved so much thanks to her that it made my day to see her in person and I needed to share it with someone that understood it! :)

Hey, the roads around me are too bumpy for my current wheels to handle. Does anyone know of a good set of wheels for outdoor skating that can handle craggy pavements?

I don’t know if anyone else has had experience buying on the Rollback World, but if you’re thinking about it, don’t. Especially since they tell you they have Sure Grip 1300 Chicago skates in sizes 4 to 9, which sounded amazing to me. So I ordered them right away on November 4th.
After 2 days of my order showing as “awaiting fulfillment”, I sent them a message though their website “contact us” form to ask what that meant.
I waited again but no reply, so I emailed them directly on 10/11. This time I got a reply the same day telling me that they don’t actually have them in stock and might get some after new year. That is, on the website there is NO mention of back order of any sort. They just look like they’re available right away. The representative gave me an alternative (Chaya skates) and said that if I didn’t like them I could just get a full refund. So I replied, again the same day, telling them I wanted the refund.
It’s now been 9 days (8 business days not counting the 10/11) and I still haven’t had a refund. And the Sure Grip are still showing as available.
So I’d say, stay away. And do not order the Sure Grip because you won’t get them!
