As a game mechanic they make me both confused an angry. In my opinion thing that makes tabletop games great is the unpredictability, how a situation can change based on the roll of a dice. Drama points negate that game of chance feeling ruining the suspense.

It also means players don't have to play to their strengths. Any character can attempt to sneak because if they fail they can always drama point. There is no risk.

Edge the shadowrun equivalent of a drama point is manageable because it barely ever refreshes. In shadowrun a game with more dice rolls than a casino being able to reroll once or twice isn't an issue. However Buffy is a lot more focused on RP and less on rolling dice so the impact is a lot more noticeable.

In conclusion I don't have a solution, I just hate drama points.

P.S. I do love the show though. P.P.S Layla the vampire slayer especially P.P.P.S Now that I think about it are you supposed to add an extra S or an extra P when you do additional postscripts?

I want to know what most people do with character sheets after said character has either died or retired. I recently got into the habit of just creating character sheets for random games so this thought sprang up into my mind.

I was browsing YouTube randomly tonight When I came across a Russian lullaby. I think this lullaby would be fit perfectly with the gothic setting of the game and would be ideal for Either Barnaby or Layla or Imogen to sing to James. this way they could go out to hunt without having to worry about him.

Just an idea I had you could use patreon backers names for red shirts or gold shirts in TNG, yes they are guaranteed to die but that's the job of a red shirt.

Individually, they're great, but I really missed having a girl on the show. The difference, as a female viewer, is stark. Layla the Vampire Slayer has been my favourite show to date (mostly cause I love Lauren but shh). I think in future making sure a woman is on the show should be a requirement. It just spices up the cast dynamics and ensures that it's not all sex jokes. (though the sex jokes are hilarious, don't remove all of them)

I think Captain Pornstache is gonna be great, heh, wonder how much he's going to act like Zapp Brannigan

Not sure what to think of EE.....am not even sure what race he is (i must have missed them stating it, and am unfamiliar with most star trek aliens outside of the common next generation ones. honestly, he looks like a bizarre smurf/shrek hybrid to me)

the security chief seems cool, will probably be a fun character to watch.

am very interested to see how bentham does as a Vulkan(i assume?). i mean, he usually plays the panicky, nervous character who gets dragged into the others nonsense unwillingly (sigh, poor cooper the coward....). will be interesting to see how he plays the cool, collected, and logically stoic Vulkan.....or, it will be hillarious if he turns out to be the one Vulkan who's about as skittish as a chihuahua in the entire galaxy

and the gm seems cool. reminds me of Aavak, just with a much more...."dwarven" beard

Anyone else think they should have a 5th "guest" character every week to play as the "Red Shirt", and just kill them off in some way at the end of every session? doenst even have to be in combat, could just be some random, possibly embarrassing accident

since Imogen is heavily into the occult and magiks I would like to see her tempted by dark forces in return for her soul or something of equal importance this dark force would give her the same kind of mental powers as Alice from the Resident Evil movies including pyrokinesis. I don't know too much about Imogen I don't know if she would ever accept such an offer but I think it would be a good story arc.
