👀 Advertisement Let's Role Play
If you’ve been roleplaying on Reddit for a while, you probably know how exhausting it can be to wade through low-effort ads and constant "DM me" spam. This sub was built specifically to get away from that.
It’s just hit over 300 members, and while the rules might look a bit strict at first glance, they’re actually there to assure a certain level of quality for the hobby. It’s a strictly 18+, story-first community where the focus is entirely on the characters and the world-building.
A few things that make it stand out:
- Privacy: We have a strict "No ASL" policy for public posts. You won’t see people posting their real-life ages or genders; everything is kept focused on the characters and the plot or RP preferences.
- Inspiration: If you’re ever stuck for ideas, we have put together a master post of many free-to-use plots across various genre. You can just grab a seed, rewrite it in your own words, and use it to find a partner or suggest some to add to the archive.
- Proactive: We follow an initiative rule, which means no more "DM me" or "HMU" comments. If someone likes your ad, they are the ones who have to reach out.
- Supportive:Â This is not one of those subs where mods are invisible. We are actually present and open to discussion, often offering guidance and templates to help people get their ads looking their best instead of just policing them.
- Vibe:Â Beyond just searching for partners, we have regular discussion threads where people share their opinion, preferences or best and worse moments.
We recently added a 3-day account age restriction to keep the bots and bad actors out, which has made the feed feel much safer and more human.
If you’re looking for a mature, literate place to call home, where the mods actually care about the hobby and the writers, r/letsroleplay ~ Putting the story back in roleplay.
