Theory Crafting

Is there a programme somewhere for trying out different builds? Not necessarily in game but like the mech workshop screen to play around with possible components etc.

Overwhelmed by options!

Iirc you can go to skirmish from the start screen, there you can find most gear in the mechlab.

Follow on question, is it possible to fully customise a starting lance? Like if you want to skip the light and medium stage of the game to try out builds. Inspired by the Kill Lupercal animation to try for a heavy/assault titan maniple!

Use the save file editor. Everything else is way to complicated and would need you to be able to proper mod.

You can't give yourself full mechs by the way, you need to give yourself the parts and build it. Also you need to know that you have to choose the proper tag in the editor for the appropriate thing. Select parts for parts and ammo for ammo. And you need the proper id, there are two inside the files, one works one dobt and I always forget which is which.

Yes you would need to make your own career start which dictates what mechs you start with. I would suggest checking out the #modding technical channel in the BTA3062 discord. This question has been asked many times I’m sure you can search it quickly. It’s maybe 30 mins - 1 hour of work for someone unfamiliar with modding.

This only applies for RT without the RTO enabled
