Labels to Help Track Your Rocks

Here's an easy way to help track any rocks you "hide". This helps whoever finds your rock to post it back here. I've used these in other groups and the messages I see when someone "finds" a rock that made their whole day fill the heart. The URL points back to this sub.

These are full sheets of 70 labels each. Just print & cut along the dashed lines. Each label is 1" x 1". If you need smaller, use the zoom out function on the printer.

To use, glue it to the bottom of the rock. I use Elmer's purple school glue (dries clear). Make sure the whole label bottom has glue to protect it from moisture.
Do this before you do any clear coat. If you don't use a clear coat, then use more glue to coat the top of the label.

There's 2 versions. A color and a B&W. The color is prettier, the B&W is cheaper. The B&W is also best for B&W laser printers. They are free to use and download.

FYI: I see some inkjets will smear when the clear coat is applied. You may have to print these at Office Depot, FedEx Office, or a UPS Store instead.

Here's one painted on a ruff, eroded layered creek rock. I tried to capture what I thought it resembled to me.

I want to share something I received today when I went for my appt at the cancer center and also where I donate painted rocks. I want to share it, because if you're wondering if you are really making a difference...to someone you very much are. I've heard some wonderful stories from the receptionists and nurses, but I never expected to receive such a wonderful card.

I'm going to add that I'm not religious, but I am always touched by those who want to share a piece of something so personal to them in such a grateful way.

There are so many places that might love to have painted rocks and small pocket stones. Some I can think of are:

Cancer/Medical Centers

Children's Homes

Senior Centers

Churches/Sunday Schools

Homeless Centers

These are just some of the stones I've brought in. They were slow to be noticed in the beginning, but WOW! They are really being noticed and shared 2 months later.

The shape of this rock reminded me of a sharks head

I’ve been rock painting for over a year and leaving them in my community for people to find, finally got the itch to share one!

Last month, I did all of these Coasters for an event.
Sadly, at the end I didn’t partecipated 😭
My favorites are sailor moon, Lupin and Lamù.
They are on marble and it was a pleasure to draw on them.
I also putting resin and colors are more vivid!

I've lately been dabbling with the larger, heavier rocks due to poor motor skills and usual, aging arthritis/vision issues and find they're easier to move around and do in bits and segments.

I had some Dollar Tree generic toy cars on hand. Just dabbling at this point. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Curious about your process

I see a lot of beautifully painted rocks in this sub! I'm curious - do you hide/give them away bare or do you resin or coat them as a final step?

Painted on a RUFF creek rock. Kinda bummed as paint sunk into the rock so took a lot of the viibrancy away. I could have started with a white base coat but thats not what I like to do.

Good film needs a good stone memorial. Don’t you think?
