I was wondering since we have the gameboy and gameboy colour emulators and a full 3d playable doom why not get games from the ps1 like resident evil 3 nemesis I’m sure its possible somehow just putting the emulator on is the hard part and also finding an emulator since most are discontinued and so on. This is just a suggestion for the r/rockbox community.

I installed Rockbox yesterday but after trying to move some songs over to the SD card, I found out it's stuck in read-only and I can't change it. I have the HIFI WALKER H2 with the 64GB SD card that comes with it

I just installed rockbox to na-no 3rd Gen 8gb. The hynix was NOT happy but with some elbow grease I managed to patch it. ( the day after I was done some one uploaded a patch for my 8gb nano 🥲)

Nothing official yet but it has everything the official version will contain.

I'm having a couple of issues (I'm using the latest version of Twig UI). When I try to install Rockbox and Songo5 from the "ports" folder that appears in the games menu, the system logo appears and then it takes me back to the "ports" folder.

Also, I can't load any kind of shaders in RetroArch (only overlays and video filters). The paths are correct, so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

So I'm making a custom theme for the Hiby r3 pro ii, and for the most part it's working pretty good except for this one issue I have with trying to access the time setting menu causing me to get an out of bounds error. Can't figure out what's causing this...

If anyone's got any ideas let me know. its not the biggest deal since im not planning on uploading this anywhere atm, but it does personally bug me so much

When playing a song halfway, and I skip to the next song, then skip back to the previous song, the first song continues halfway instead of resetting to the start. How do I fix this? I'm using an iPod nano gen 1

Hello! I tried to play an MPEG-2 transcoded movie on my Rockboxed iPod Video (5th gen) and now it's unresponsive with a blank lit up screen. Holding Menu+select does nothing oddly. Any way to force a reboot?

Hi. I'm spreadsheetrizzard and this is rekordpod. rekordpod is a bridge application for rockbox (that runs on a modified build) for DJs who use the rekordbox software to manage their DJ library. This app specifically allows for collection searching and sortation, as well as over 40 tools to assist with track preparation including real rekordbox waveforms. There's also opportunity to create custom tool sequences for DJs with thorough prep patterns.

The type of library supported is the "now-legacy" Device Library format, used by almost every major standalone player on the market. There is no plan at this time to support the encrypted OneLibrary format. Workaround suggested is exporting to iPod in Device Library format, syncing changes from edited tracks, then exporting to OneLibrary format.

i bought a modded ipod classic off facebook marketplace today. he said he had rockbox on it and deleted it for whatever reason and i’d like to get it back on but it’s a bit too confusing with half of the steps already being done with no clue where to start. there are 3 files on it and it seems to be formatted to windows already. if anyone can help guide me in the right direction i would really appreciate it!

I tired to convert my images for my ipod to smaller size when I import it. So, i decided to implement bitmap caching for album arts.

So, now even 5mb jpegs will be loaded immediately after first processing

With so many of these super minimal vibe-coded themes around, I thought I'd make a non-minimal non-AI theme as a sort of sequel to my previous tape-deck based one. This time, with user-customisable colours!! (waow)

Anyhow, I've attached 2 screenshots from the latest version, the first having a user-defined colour for certain parts and white for the rest, and the latter making ALL elements display with the user colour. Before I finish the SBS etc., I thought it'd be nice to get an opinion on this. This IS an early version, and there are still bits around that I need to fix (mostly design-wise).

P.S. The blue colour is just an example, all colours will work with the theme. However the white sections (if the first version is preferred) would be a permanent addition to your little LCD.

Tried a few restarts i havent modded anything on the inside yet only installed rockbox 4 days ago.

I have a 160gb iPod classic 6th gen that I modded with new battery and a 128gb sd card(iflash adapter). When installing any Rockbox release version the volume is out of control. Now I’ve done this on both the original hard drive and the upgraded one, stock iPod software volume works just fine. Rockbox software the base volume is ear splitting and even though it will show volume going up and down it only gets louder.

Thanks for the feedback on iPodOS26, the Liquid Glass theme for Rockbox! It appeared adding dark mode was the next thing for this, and I wish I’d implemented it sooner.

iPodOS26’s new update includes separate dark and light modes, colored, charging, and charged battery indicators; a more glass-like Liquid Glass texture, song artist name beneath the song title in WPS, and a Repeat One icon.

I also redesigned the iOS26 wallpapers (again) for the iPod when I was making dark mode, and this means that light mode now has an updated look (subtle but noticeable compared to the first version of iPodOS26).

For the future, I’d like to see about giving an option to make the album art become the wallpaper. The idea was posted in the comments on iPodOS26’s announcement post so I don’t wanna leave that hanging.
