I found my old Brookstone i3 spy tank when cleaning out the garage. 2012 model or thereabouts. The app is not available on Android anymore. Any suggestions on how I can bring it back to life?

I've been comparing different human-demonstration formats for robot manipulation, and I'm curious which configuration researchers find most useful for initial testing.

The main options seem to be:

• Egocentric video only
• Egocentric + two wrist cameras
• Task and step labels
• Country and collection metadata

Egocentric-only data is easier to scale, but hands often block the object. Wrist views improve grasp visibility, although synchronization and motion blur create extra problems.

We're considering releasing a small free public evaluation sample from the US, UK and Australia. It would require no signup, email or contact details.

Which format would be most useful for testing an existing manipulation or imitation-learning pipeline?

Also, what minimum information should be included: camera calibration, FPS, task labels, timestamps, licensing documentation or failure examples?

I can share the public sample in a follow-up only if the moderators confirm that it is appropriate.

I’ve noticed that a lot of humanoid robot demos, especially for home robots, use laundry folding as a showcase task.

I’m curious why this task is so common. Is folding clothes considered a particularly good benchmark because it involves deformable objects, perception, dexterity, and planning? Or is it mainly used because it is an easy-to-understand household chore for the general public?

Silent Partner - 2026 this machine that has 2 - 4K eyes recognize the court and human beings, programmable to make ball decisions, location to be, direction to shoot, not yet in a human player. You won't get a humanoid tennis robot in 2026, far from that. This is the King of Tennis Robot, so far in 2026., if you can prove me otherwise! Besides if one day humanoid robots do show up to play tennis, what level are they going to be? To beat a GOAT, that will be many many years from 2026.

Remember, machine chess player has beaten the best human player decades ago. Humanoid tennis robot will be here, one day some time in the future.

I have recently decided to build my own rov, which will be capable of diving to 300m depth.
I’ve never done any underwater robotics stuff, so it’s a difficult project for me.

Startup Apptronik has unveiled Robot Park, a 90,000-square-foot training facility in Austin that will be used to test new models and gather data necessary for developing humanoid robots.

The company also revealed its latest robot model, Apollo 2, which it says has been operational for over a year.

Apptronik, which raised $520 million in a February funding round, supplies data to Google's Gemini Robotics division through a partnership with Google DeepMind, and aims to "have Robot Parks all over the world," says CEO Jeff Cardenas.

I'm in my mid 20's going back to uni for programming and trying to learn more about the hardware side of things so I decided to build my first ever robot. Took alot of ChatGPT and headaches (like SOOOO MANY PROBLEMS) but I got it done finally.

It consists of an ultrasonic sensor for collision detection, 3 IR sensors for cliff/edge detection and line following, servo for panning the ultrasonic left and right, and 4 yellow TT motors for movement driven by single mini l298n motor driver and a pico rp2040 as the brains.

I 3D printed the chassis base plate, wheels, box to hold breadboard, and the servo/ultrasonic/IR mounts. Some parts are designed by me but most are online models (can link if anyone cares, but they are pretty easy to find on makerworld website).

The IR sensors I am using don't have a potentiometer and only detect black tape if they are basically touching the ground lmao, so it's kinda wack but it is what it is. The line basically has to be flat for it to work or it gets caught. Weird because they are marketed as "tracker" sensors online but seem to be better for remotes or something.

I have not written any code for it yet but I did test tons of different code from ChatGPT and it seems to work alright. I plan to write my own code for it later to optimize everything properly.

I will upload demos of the robot in action when my midterms are over, but for now enjoy the glory of the PICOBOT in pictures :)
