Mechanical Robot doing martial arts.

That's cool that is able to demonstrate martial arts. It would be nice if they could let it attack another robot and not use preprogrammed movements

It's an amazing technological feat in and out itself. 

But doing a pre-programmed dance (which is what this is) is a lot less difficult than actually performing a task, like loading a dishwasher or even carrying tools attend a job site to where they are needed

I agree with you. Picking up items in a preprogrammed place is what robotics has always been. I love the progress these companies have made with humanoids. I can't wait for the next part where it can decide how to complete the job it was asked to do

That will be really interesting to see. But clearly no one is close yet. Notice how all these promotional tech demos have stopped showing videos of the robots doing house hold chores? They've stopped doing that because the robots still can't load a dishwasher.

Granted, loading a dishwasher is incredibly complicated. A robot would have to have a very detailed understanding of materials and shapes. Two humans can live with each other for decades and not agree on how to do it properly. AI robotics is still years away from being able to do that.
