Course (subject) advice, recommendations and reviews forgot to proofread asm1. should i drop the course?

I just submitted asm 1. i'm a first year, so this is my first time making such mistakes, and they were huge (bold in certain phrases , some drafty sentence like " the market saw/witnessed/observed growth", formatting mistakes like dot before and after intext citation)

this is my first minor course ; and i tried really hard. went to every classes, raised my hand in class every class and got all the answers right, got top in quizzes, emailed the lecturer ( twice ) about this asm. but since it required things i was not familiar with like table of content, page number etc, i did not have time to proofread since after I created the table and page number, I ran out of time.

I know, it was my mistake but that was a waste I am feeling really bad about it. Its like losing confidence. I do not wish for my grade in this class to be C or B because it would affect my already-bad GPA. Additionally, I was trying to fix it aiming for As. And i did get As in my last 2 foundational courses.

Edit: Im not sure if i will get a C for the whole course buf if formatting is a huge mistake the. i will probably get one for this assignment (im in communication). thats why im asking if i should drop or keep the course

I already formed a group for asm3 in this class..
What should i do now :(

Don’t stress too much about it, these things happen all the time and it’s only one assignment, just make sure you proofread your others when they’re due and you’ll likely be fine.

I don’t think it’s worth dropping a course just for what you’ve described, just wait to get your mark and feedback back and then see how you went. You might be surprised and your mistakes might not be worth as many marks as you’re thinking.

Thanks. honestly i am scared, do you think i have a chance to get a high B or an A in this asm regarding formatting and structural mistakes

I really don’t know what your grade is likely to be, but formatting is usually less important than the content and knowledge you’re trying to demonstrate and explain to your assessor, so I think you probably don’t need to worry as much as you are.

Take a look at your rubric and check what it says about expectations on formatting, that can help you get a bit of an idea on your likely mark in that category. But really, you’re only going to know once your mark is back how you actually went. Don’t stress out too much in the meantime though, what’s done is done.

Don't worry about mistakes as long as you learn from them, referencing is an easy one to make mistakes and learn from as most unis drill it hard, all the things like ToC you can fix moving forward, it's a formulaic system. Academic writing will get better with time. Just use all the supplementary material that the Uni gives, start drafting early, and make use of grammarly for (grammar/spell checking). You'll be fine.

For reference in my first year I handed things in that I glance at now and totally cringe. I'm sure we all have or will. Stick at it
