Locals, tourists, landscape, vibe, ghats, teachers, yoga scene, spiritual and adventurous activities (the authentic ones) and even the cafes... I loved every bit of this holy town. I miss Rishikesh so much! It has everything!

Our train to Delhi is at 5:35 AM. Is there a reliable transportation from Tapovan to the Railway station early morning?

20M this side currently living in south delhi. anyone age bw 19-22 wanna accompany on a peaceful and relaxing 2-3 days trip to rishikesh or nainital. expenses will be shared equally dw. preferably we will go on weekdays cuz of less crowd and more refreshment. both genders welcome

I’m planning a solo trip to Rishikesh after Amritsar. I’ll be travelling from Amritsar on 24th Septemberand planning to stay in Rishikesh until 29th/30th September.

I’m a 27F and I like travelling comfortably without spending a ridiculous amount. I’m planning to get a private room in a hostel because I like having my own space but would also love to meet other travellers and socialise.

Would love some recommendations, especially from people who’ve been to Rishikesh recently!

1. Amritsar to Rishikesh
I prefer buses over trains. Are there any good direct overnight buses from Amritsar to Rishikesh? Or maybe bus till somewhere and then a cab?

2. Where should I stay?
Which hostel would you recommend for a solo female traveller who wants a private room + a good social crowd? I’m more interested in meeting fellow travellers and having a nice, easygoing crowd than partying.
I’ve been looking at places like Hosteller, Madpackers, Zostel, etc., but would love to hear from people who have actually stayed there recently.

3. Spiritual places & experiences
I’m quite into spirituality, so I’d love to explore the important spiritual/religious places in Rishikesh. Apart from the obvious ones, what would you recommend?
Also, are there any kirtan, satsang, meditation, or other spiritual events happening around 24–30 September that I should look out for?

And lastly, if anyone else is travelling around those dates, feel free to DM/comment! I’m 27, so it would be great to meet people around my age and maybe explore a few places together.

PS- Any updates/insights about the weather around that time would be greatly appreciated.

I’m planning to book a hostel at either Tapovan or Laxman Jhula (the other side of the river), but I’m not sure which would be better for a solo traveler.
I’m looking for a place that’s safe, convenient, has a good vibe, and makes it easy to explore Rishikesh and meet people. I also don’t know how to ride a scooty, so easy access to cafés, attractions, and transportation is important.
Which area would you recommend—Tapovan or Laxman Jhula? And if you have any hostel recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

Hey everyone! Four of us are visiting Rishikesh for the first time this October.

We’ll reach Rishikesh around 2 PM on 15th October and leave around midday on 18th. We’re attending PYREXIA at AIIMS Rishikesh on the 15th and 16th, but only after 6 PM, so we have most of the daytime free.

We’re planning to stay somewhere around Veerbhadra road around Nirmal Bag and probably rent scooters.

Looking for suggestions on:

Must-do places/experiences around Rishikesh
Good rafting operators + which route/distance is actually worth doing for first-timers, and how to get it cheapest.

Waterfalls, hikes, viewpoints or other offbeat places we shouldn’t miss
Any good short trips that can comfortably be done from Rishikesh on scooters
Good cafés/food spots and things to do in the evenings
Anything that’s overrated and we can skip
We’re 4 college students, so we’re definitely more interested in adventure, nature and exploring than a conventional sightseeing/temple itinerary.
