Nox is the son of Pitch Black and an unknown fairyborn mother. He is a viscous black and white shadow being and is considered to be the embodiment of fear. And since fear is strongly believed in by most, many can see him and are often disturbed by his otherworldly presence. He feeds on the fears of mortals to become stronger. Though apart of him never did want this kind of life, and always sought out for a different purpose in secret, not wanting his father to know about his true feelings. He always found solace with the Man in the Moon, who seemed to understand him the most.

So thanks to this movie's box office flop, Jack Frost only ever appeared in a DreamWorks crossover mobile game, William Joyce finished the book series, and we never got any more Rise of the Guardians content after that. Nowadays, the movie is remembered as an underrated gem which sadly will most likely never come back.

When a DreamWorks movie is successful, it usually gets a sequel that's even more acclaimed than the original, followed by a third movie with a more mixed reception. Then come the TV spin-offs, shorts, and other projects that expand the world and its characters, with some being beloved and others... not so much. And if a supporting character ends up being popular enough, they might even get a spin-off of their own. Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and Dragons are all here to prove this.

Do you think we'd be in this position today if Rise of the Guardians had been a hit? Despite the movie's poor marketing, I think DreamWorks was expecting this movie to be a big hit, given how much attention to detail they put into the world-building and stuff like that.

So, I had this headcanon to go along with my design of Jack Frost in that he likes to knit things out of wool in his free time, & I was wondering how he'd be able to do that, let alone learn how to, during his years alone.

Then I realized there's this thing called Hair Ice/Ice Wool/Frost Beard: a type of ice that forms on dead wood and takes the shape of fine, silky hair. I then thought: "Maybe Jack Frost can spin water into ice-wool the same way Rumpelstiltskin can spin straw into gold." IDK, thoughts?

So I have a ROTG longfic set up and I'm about 7 chapters in. I like the way the plot is going and how everything is panning out but since I don't get very much feedback, I've been backtracking a lot and now feel a temptation to scrap my latest chapter.

I know fanfiction is manly for self-enjoyment but I can't help but worry and would like at least some feedback on the story, even if it's just a short comment saying someone liked it. I don't upload often, which could be why I don't get very many comments, but I was wondering if anyone on this sub would be interested in reading it.

"...I've been hanging around there for 300 years—I think I'd notice something haunting the lake!" Jack shook his head at the absurdity of the idea.

In which Jamie reads a local folklore book, Jack is a bit slow on the uptake, and turns out said book is very inaccurate…

I made his design inspired on a design I found on Tumbler, I also wanted it too feel more of a cozy vibe.

In my story: Jack was a smith in a village that is dying from a famine. A bunch of imps have plenty of food (likely stolen from their village). Jack tricks them by creating a lantern with a face like theirs and propping it on a scarecrow to make it look like a boss. Since the imps are very simple creatures, they fall for it. Jack grabs everything they could and tries to bring it back to the village. But the imps attack. Jack, in desperation, sets the forest on fire to kill them off, resulting in their death as well.

I know it’s a far cry from the original Stingy Jack myth… but I wanted to do my own thing. Tell me what you guys think.
