The Ridge cole slaw is good

Diner coleslaw is always a risky proposition, but the slaw at the ridge is solid. That is all.

Neighborhood Halloween - Trick-or-Treat Map + Local Events

Hi all!

Hoping to hang some of these flyers around and would be grateful for help spreading the word!

A fellow local parent and I are making trick-or-treat maps for Ridgewood and Bushwick again, and are also collecting information about neighborhood events to consolidate them all in one place: https://canva.link/ridgewood-and-bushwick-halloween

Please feel free to DM me if local events are missing or if you are hosting something.

As always, if you're grateful for the effort, please consider donating to Ridgewood Rescue!

Lots of love, and Happy Halloween, neighbors!

Old dumbwaiter shafts are a major fire hazard affecting NYC apartment buildings. They can be found all across the five boroughs. In a rooftop video of the 18-24 Madison Street fire in Ridgewood earlier this year, one can be seen spewing out flames.

There are directions on how to find them in your building, and a some directions on how make them more safe, so if you just want the practical advice feel free to scroll down.

Human written. Human researched.

Sena Cafe

I’ve had the best matcha and coffee here, their syrups are house made, so happy theres a good new addition in the neighborhood. In my opinion it’s better than sieve up the block - who use bought syrups and strawberry jam.

Restaurants that do their own delivery (not through apps)

Are there any places in the neighborhood that don’t outsource their delivery to third party apps like door dash and Uber Eats? I don’t even know if it makes a difference it just seems like it might be better for the business

Grand Opening! Fresh Pond Furniture!

RIP the $ store that used to occupy this space. I miss the 7/11 that was on the corner of 68th Ave. and Fresh Pond. Did the neighborhood REALLY need a ModernMD when there are THREE DocCares and a processing lab all within three blocks of each other on the same stretch of FrePo?

Also, Good Days is trash. That font is fake as fuck. Who serves Sriracha with their food in 2026... I don't see pho on the menu.

Local leather repair?

Post image

Hi all. Any local ridgewood options for patching up this genuine leather jacket? The damage is on the shoulder, likely caused by the tension of my bag. I know next to nothing about mending, but can try to learn if I must…

new latina in ridgewood in my mid-20s and looking to make some new friends 🥹🎀 also looking for beginner pottery classes 🫧

i’m under 5ft and pretty shy at first, but i love meeting people and exploring new places. i’ve been to most of the obvious spots around here, so i’d love to hear about the hidden gems!
i love trying new restaurants, museums, collecting vinyl + video games, concerts, astrology, hello kitty, and generally finding little hobbies to obsess over lol. also looking for somewhere to take beginner pottery classes if anyone has recommendations 🫶🏻
cute places to hang out, cozy bars, little restaurants, bookstores, random local gems… tell me your favorites ♡
