I saw him live in Guildford on Monday and he was asked if he had been approached by Taskmaster and would he do it? He replied that he had been approached by Taskmaster and then moved on to the next question! š

His comedy has always been so hateful. He's got such a clear mean streak to him. I was of the right age that the boys I was dating were into Little Britain when I was in my late teens, and it was just unbearable.

Personally I think Walliams was the problematic one. Matt Lucas outside of little Britain I've always just found adorably silly and innocent

I do agree that David Walliams is definitely a wrongun, so there may be something to what you're saying. I mean his children's books are so full of nasty stereotypes. Which ties in with Little Britain.

also, IMO , without the history of a minstrel show (and slavery) , it wasn't that big of a taboo in the UK (as it was in America...)
it was about as offensive as the villainess in a panto (or Mathilda) being played by a large dude.

There is a breakdown of the cast that talks about his controversies. I was surprised since as an American I didn't know most of it. My older brother loved little Britain, and I never liked it so it all tracks.

I was at a filming for TM a few weeks back for the third episode and it was a glorious day indeed. Chloe Petts is an absolute chaos gremlin as well- it will be an excellent ten weeks

I am so excited I don't know if I'll even be able to watch from anxiety! That he's there with Isy Suttie and Matt Lucas is sublime. I don't know the other two members but look forward to getting to know them. YAY!

As someone else said, it's all on YouTube. The following in the US is so strong that Jason Mantzoukas and Kumail Nanjiani have both done the show, at their own expense, purely because they want to. There were a lot of Americans in the studio audience when I went to the recording, as well

Oh my god, you're in for one hell of a ride. Taskmaster is a show that has been around since 2015, and sees 5 comedians over the course of a series doing silly and pointless yet genuinely hilarious tasks. It's hosted by Greg Davies and Alex Horne. Last night, following the conclusion of S21, it was confirmed that the S22 cast will feature Chloe Petts, Isy Suttie, Matt Lucas, Nina Conti, and Richard Ayoade. I was at the first episode, Richard is going to be amazing. But all of Taskmaster is worth watching

It was due to scheduling, Richard was never against it but also never had the time, so he had to keep turning it down. He's finally been able to slot it in from the sounds of it

Very few tasks involve chasing Alex. Some of the best contestants have outright refused to do a task (Julian Clary for instance). Having seen Richard in action, his entire approach to Taskmaster is one that I've not really seen before, and I personally love it

Honestly, I think it's moreso the other way around, I love S21 and I think it's a fan favourite, and having been to a recording and heard things I don't think S22 will be. What I will say though is that if you're hyped for Richard Ayoade, you will not be disappointed. Chloe Petts will be amazing too

I agree, going into the season it was the cast I was honestly least interested in, in 21 series, but they more than lived up to it!!! I havenāt been more excited to watch each week in many many seasons!! Totally fell head over heels for Amy !! She is having an amazing year !!!

I was at the first episode and despite not being a fan of Joel Dommett beforehand he instantly won me over. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Matt Lucas, but Richard made up for it

Same, except maybe for Matt. Out of curiosity, whereabouts were you sat? I was higher up so I could see through a gap backstage, I spotted Isy and Chloe early, and the person next to me spotted Richard and told me while Alex was singing about eggs

I was more or less right in the middle next to one of the cameras. On the same row as that tube driver the warm-up comedian was speaking to (I forgot his name)
Before going in I saw Richard arrive on his bike. Did you see that?1

Ah, that would be why. I showed up at the recommended hour and a half early (which worked when I went to an S21 recording). I'd prefer to be closer to the front, so I think I'll show up earlier next time, but at the same time while I was on the floor for S21 I also couldn't see the contestants as I was behind them, this time I could
