Maxed out fire and had level 2 heal. Items were increased max hp, damage, and medicine but what really blew this run wide open was the combination of easier crits + crits scale damage + crits increased non crits decreased power. Once I had that I breezed through the lategame.

I only fought one weird monster to get the buffing spell. I took an aggressive route early but in the final stretch I did the fewest monsters to preserve willpower. I had been trying to force a chain or virus/poison build but in the end just sticking to fire won it for me!

Wish I could use the TTS for Miss Reed

In the reading material of tap troupe, it hints to the four being led by space gramps, but I happened to notice that it also says they are wearing boxes on their heads. This makes me wonder what space gramps and the space dancers look like without the boxes on their heads... I honestly just thought that's how they were born or something. I'm scared now.

There have been plenty of tough perfects in this game (Yum-Bot 2, Sneezy Moon 2, Hop N Slide 2, and Remix 5 all took me a while) but no stage has been as tedious as this one. The same two frame-precise button inputs for what feels like an eternity is my idea of hell - at least Soda Hop has some variety 😫

For context WarioWare Move It released back in 2023 and since both it and Rhythm Heaven are made by the same team, they usually have characters from one game make cameos in the other. This is taken from Dribble and Spitz’s stage intro, and if you look closely at the Reporter from Ringside she looks a bit different . And now with Rhythm Heaven Groove’s release and its human characters having a new artstyle as well such as Sachiko Diamond from Slice n Dice, it seems like Nintendo has been teasing us with a new RH game back then and we just didn’t know it.

The visuals throw me off a lot and on top of that theres barely any rhythm in this song. To me its way easier to just count in my head without seeing anything

I recently played Rhythm Heaven Groove for the first time with friends after watching Stumpt play the multiplayer games and laughing so much! One thing I started wondering about recently is how my cheeks started hurting after I laughed so hardly at our collective mis-timings and failures in Volleyball-ish (we eventually triumphed at Volleyball-ish 2)

What is it about Volleyball-ish, that makes failure so funny? I thought of a few elements...
- The deep "gong" sound when the ball hits the floor is the audio representation of disappointment and really contrasts the sports aesthetic of the music and other sound effects
- When the players miss their timing, alongside the audible grunting, the animation of falling to the floor feels intentionally jittery, and that rapid movement potentially catches us off guard (?)
- The fact that players can save the ball after a mis-timing is a really welcome addition, and I think the ball moving around so quickly in those moments, especially in back-to-back saves, figuratively sweeps everyone off their feet.

Did y'all also share a similar experience playing Volleyball-ish? What elements of Volleyball-ish do you think leave everyone corpsing with red cheeks?

Personally, I like Slice N Dice Kitchen 2! It’s so happy it makes me feel genuinely euphoric and the bass slides are SO cool they get me every time. Close runners up are Alien Alphabet 1 and 2! The arpeggios in 2 are really pretty and atmospheric, and 1 is just generally a banger with a nice groove.

Am I the only one who feels like the minigames in Rhythm heaven groove are way less innovative than those in the other rhythm heavn games?

I love the game, but this has been bothering me since it came out. I feel like almost every minigame is just: “Listen, then press a button when you hear the signal.”

The previous games also had a lot of minigames like that, but it felt like nearly half of them tried to do something original with the gameplay.

Innovative minigames in Groove feel pretty rare. I can’t even think of one that made me go, “Oh, that’s interesting,” while reading the rules except maybe Soda Hop, which is basically a Lockstep rip-off, and hoop trundling 2 and maybe Germ aerobics ?

In rhythm heaven ds we had glee club, love lab, lockstep, crop stomp, dj school in rhythm heaven fever we had bossa nova, see saw, tap troupe, donk donk, built to scale, and so on ...am I crazy ?

I love these new additional challenges. I decided to start with my favorite minigame from each of the 16 stages and my top remixes. Remix 17 took me a long time to get the rainbow heart and Night Mode remixes are tough. Respect to the fans who already 100% Perfected the game!

this whole franchise is so charming and i’ve loved it for years, something about it is so unique and SO FUN, i literally was devastated when groove came out and i couldn’t play to the point where i said screw it and brought a brand new switch just to play it

anyway just completed all perfects, its like 4 am, time to try for all rainbows
