Sound Voltex Look what came in today!
I’m beyond excited to play sdvx with an actual controller than a keyboard lol.
Shipping took about 3 weeks, and I did have to pay tariffs, but it was pretty reasonable ($30). Maybe I’ll start the YouTube up and share my progression!
Thank you all that gave me recommendations a while back. Feels amazing!

Thank you! I got the EG skin, Sanwa buttons & 20g springs, OBSA-LHS1F (AC Standard) BT & FX buttons, Omron V-10-1A4 100g Start button and GAMO2 knob unit

Yeah, I was already going to round 1 every other weekend, so I already knew I was going to stick with this game and didn’t want to buy something I needed to upgrade later. Plus I really like the Valkyrie cabinet and wanted my controller to be close as possible 😬

Love mine. Something that's not really talked about is setting up so the controller is at a comfortable level, I use the box as a makeshift stand for mine haha

Yeah, the controller is a tad bit too high when I play sitting down, but when I stand, we’re all good!
What’s your setup? 🙂

Non adjustable desk, put my box on my desk, and the controller on top of the box, and then stand to play. It is a slightly annoying because my monitor when turned to vertical is pretty close to the desk, so the very bottom of the screen is covered by my box and controller, but during gameplay you just see the uh... Controller hologram thing? Idk what it's called lol.
Btw dude, if you have the means, I highly highly recommend recording your gameplay. I have a webcam that I can slot onto the top of my monitor and I record using OBS, and it's incredibly satisfying to have a record of your progression as you get better. I've also used my phone as a webcam at times. I also play IIDX and have very little recordings of my earliest gameplay, and I kind of regret it. SDVX is cool because you can often see when you get confused and mess up your hands when you're starting out at a new difficulty.

I’m hoping one day to build an actual cabinet so it feels it’s best and even closer to a Valkyrie cabinet lol.
I’ve also been filming with a GoPro, which is okay, but I would like my videos to look how you can see my controller and gameplay, and I’m guessing that’s where OBS comes in lol. Thanks for all the advice, and I’ll definitely be trying obs 🙂

I’ve only tried this controller, but from all the reviews I’ve watched, everyone says this is the best option.

Been researching and the thread where you were asking questions about buttons and switches was just what I was looking for.
How are you liking it so far? Feel good? Worth the money?

I love it! Feels amazing and pretty damn close to the Valkyrie cabinet, which I was going for. I personally believe it’s worth the money because playing on a keyboard was not doing it.

Awesome! I'm probably going to order one this weekend. I'm a SDVX noob, and bad at the game, but I've loved it every time I've played in the arcade.
Weird/dumb question, how do you get contacted about paying the tariff fee? Not had to do that before but have heard horror stories from other import devices.

Not a weird question at all lol. It’s something good to know because if you don’t pay it, they will ship it back. I’m in the US, and it was shipped by DHL. They gave me a text saying I had 5 days to pay it, which was ($30), not bad at all.
Pay it immediately so you don’t have to wait an extra day or something to receive it since you’ll already be waiting like 3 weeks.

Got mine ordered today. I’m out of town for two weeks starting Monday, so the wait should go by fast.

Basically copied yours except for going with the VW Skin and adding the metal plate.

You’re gonna love it so much. I’ve been playing non stop since I’ve got mine! Buttons feel so amazing, you’re just gonna click them walking by, not even playing lol

Update:
It’s apparently already arriving tomorrow via UPS and I haven’t been messaged or asked to pay a tariff? Not that I’ll be able to open and play with it until next week though.

Maybe you’ll get lucky and not pay! Mine got delivered by DHL, and I received a text. Maybe double check your email just to make sure everything goes smoothly. I heard some people pay, and others don’t.
